Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Infinitely more enjoyable than the 2001 Burton film, and works quite well as a modern retelling of the events in 1972's Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.

I just saw it today,and it was pretty fucking good.Probably my third favorite movie that I've seen this year behind X-Men:First Class and Hannah.I actually enjoyed it more than Captain America and Super 8,and it's much better than Cowboys and Aliens and Thor.

There are some minor gripes,like some shoddy CG at times,but in all,it was really good,and a good restart to the franchise.

I watched two films today that suprised the heck out of me. One was called "The Cooler" with William H Macy and the other was called "Pathology" with Milo Ventimiglia. I had never heard of either of them but both turned out to be wicked good. Their both out as rentals. I highly recommend both of them.

The Burbs.
An 80s classic this is. Made in the final year of the 80s it was. One of my favourite characters is Rumsfield the military nut. His wife is gorgeous so she is. But Rumsfield is a nutter lol falling off the roof with his rifle as Corey Feldman shouts to him and he ends up crash landing on the grass below and the rifle shoots out a car window near by. All this while trying to be "covert ops" in his antics.

Arsenic & Old Lace.
Cary Grant movie. Great comedy in true old school style. Never ages, always a laugh and a half.

Actually watched "Escape from Alcatraz" with Clint Eastwood.

Good movie but made me disappointed with how much Shawshank Redemption seems to have copied from it. It's quite a bit the same.
