Inherit The Wind

Great movie

I totally agree, repped him for that .Awesome movie with oustanding cast of actors like Tracy,March,Gene Kelly,Claude Akins and a young Dick York.

Doesn't hurt for me eithier it was the true story of fighting the religious nuts who were fighting the truth of science (Darwinism).;)

Public Enemies. Plenty of :ak47:, but unfortunately no :boobies:.

ChefChiTown

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Talk To Me

It definitely wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but it shows just how powerful a voice, a simple voice, can be. Honestly, I would recommend this movie to just about everyone.

Ok, firstly I watched Saw 4, which sucked.

In case you don't know the whole point of the Saw films is that people are put into situations where they have to solve some kind of puzzle to escape alive, which usually results in them having to get injured or face some kind of challenge or moral dilemma. These people are chosen by the mastermind Jigsaw because they "don't appreciate their lives" and usually because they are bad people, although that sort is a matter of opinion in some cases.

So anyway, the movie is about the Swat team guy from Saw 2, who was apparently chosen because he's "obsessed" with trying to find the detective that was kidnapped by Jigsaw. That's kind of a stupid reason and really doesn't make much sense. His test consists of him getting clues to send him all over the place and each time getting involved with other people in traps. The things that the guy does are implausible as well as all of the traps and the people involved.

Also jigsaws lawyer is one of the victims, which doesn't make any sense either and it's not explained why or how he came to be in that situation, as well as another guy who dies in the first test that is never given any explanation at all.

The whole point of the movie seems to be to kill off everyone from all of the previous movies even though it is not consistent with the basic point of what jigsaw is doing- and to reveal the twist which will allow them to keep making more sequels, even though it is not ever implied in any of the previous movies and is given a really lame one sentence explanation to try to tie it in.

All that being said, I feel like I had to validate my time in some way to have made wathcing this worthwhile, so I watched Saw five...

and that was the good movie for which this thread is about.

Unlike it's previous entry, this movie was consistent and entertaining and only felt slightly absurd at times and overall did a nice job of connecting the story back with the previous films.

Yeah, it's still pointless and contrived purely for making sequels, and the first three movies are neatly wrapped up in themselves, but it was good enough on it's own to make you want to not give up on seeing saw 6, and maybe 7, 8 and 9...

(yes, they already made part six and are talking about making a seventh one and almost certainly an 8th. Nine is possible and maybe the final one.)

I've found that the saw movies that are odd sequels were better than the even numbered ones.

2 and 4 were complete garbage. While 1, 3, and 5 have been pretty good. Following this formula, I'm sure 6 will suck.

Spleen

Banned?
I know alot people might not like Eagle Eye,but i found it thrilling with a weird plot.

Isn't it just a rip off of North By Northwest?

By coincidence, I watched North By Northwest a couple of hours ago, classic.
