What is the latest good film you watched ?

BCT

Pucker Up Butter Cup.
Downsizing started off good but then went off the rails in the second half. I was pretty disappointed that Kristen Wiigs character wasn’t in it very long.

A Quiet Place Part 2

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path. This film is just as good as the first film.

Blackbird

Lily and Paul summon their loved ones to their beach house for one final gathering before Lily decides to end her long battle with ALS. The couple plans a loving weekend complete with holiday traditions, but the mood becomes strained when unresolved issues surface between Lily and her daughters Jennifer and Anna.

No Looking Back

Recently released from prison, a woman tries to get custody of her young daughter back from her overbearing mother. Nice Russian film. A alright action comedy

Swan Song

A retired hairdresser escapes his nursing home and embarks on an odyssey across his small town to style a dead woman's hair for her funeral, confronting the ghosts of his past and rediscovering his sparkle along the way.

Silk Road

Young, idealistic and driven to succeed, Ross Ulbricht creates Silk Road, the internet's first unregulated marketplace. When the site becomes a multimillion dollar pipeline for illicit drugs, Ulbricht draws the attention of Rick Bowden, a dangerously unpredictable DEA agent who uses any means necessary to take him down.

All the films were good for it's own different reasons

The Quiet Place Part 2 was brilliant just like part 1. It's a film that you have to watch part 1 before this as there is alot of backstory and filler in it. I hear rumours another film is in the making but a prequel. Emily Blunt kills it as the lead

Blackbird is a good comedy, not a laugh out loud slapstick but has it's funny moments due to the nature of the film. The decision a family has to take for their loved ones is just as real as real life and can hit home for many people. Great cast including Kate Winslet, Mia Wasikowska and Sam Neil

No Looking Back - Not alot to say besides a great Russian action comedy. Fairly graphic but the film is steady paced for a 90 mins approx movie

Swan Song - Udo Kier plays the lead tremendously well, and even though i have seen his face about in other films, i never paid too much attention to him to know he was Gay, but think this helped him pull the role off very well. Film had that theme of an elderly gentleman who is retired who is bored and wanted to go back to what he loves for one last hoorah.

Silk Road - This film was good, not brilliant or average just good. Talking about the dark web and basically showing what it can be used for. Kinda like the social network but Mark Zuckerberg here dealing with a unregulated marketplace, despite having good intentions this leads him and his friends in hot bother.

^ This makes me a feel a little better about erroneously recognizing the film Sicario (2015) in the television series thread.

I watched Joker (2019) recently and I guess I would categorize it as a good film.

Thanks for pointing this out for me. Would not have realised this otherwise ha

Planet Terror

If you are a fan of Machete, you will love this. Great cast including the great Tarantino. Even though this is classed as a horror, i don't think this is scary and can be seen as funny most of the time

Ema

A great Latin film. Foreign cinema always hits different to me for some reason. Film is a bit graphic in terms of the sexual content but the plot is very emotional following a mother who been divorced and winning back her son.

The Flash

Film was a bit long for my liking but the film was pretty decent for a DC film considering many of these are flops in popular opinion. I liked all the nostalgic references of other actors playing different versions of the superhero such as Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton being their respective Batman. I was a bit let down that there was a reported Grant Gustin who played TV Flash was going to make an appearance but didn't make the final cut. Also it would be been great if Melissa Benoist who played Supergirl in the series had some part in the film.

The Novice

This is a good and not a lengthy film at all, about how ones drive and determination to succeed and be the best, can lead to obsession to the point where everyone and everything around her is an obstacle. This unhealthy behaviour has led her to have psychological issues. The film is quite relatable on how people whether in sports or academic settings are put in extreme pressure to succeed, to the point where it's unhealthy

Up There

A light hearted film about the afterlife. I thought of giving this a go, as it is a British comedy, maybe not internationally renowened but has alot of recognisable cast members if you follow British TV

That was truly a missed opportunity. With the success of Spider-man triple-play, you'd think they would have taken the hint.
