I keep getting redirected to some strip show site.

Did the strip show business plan become more profitable for them?

The site ceased to be in existence around January 2017. Nothing discussed. The owners didn't say anything. The site now redirects to teendreams.com

Unless someone (like a member) uploads to a free tube site - like xvideos.com or xhamster.com; or to a site where it can be free and/or you can pay for it - like pornhub.com or their related sites: redtube.com, youporn.com, etc.; or lastly to a stolen content site, then those videos and picture galleries are history.

Some people say that pornhub.com steals content as well.

They had been around since 2004. Lots and lots of content GONE FOREVER.

Often the re uploads on other sites are at an inferior streaming video quality.

Inferior compared to how they looked when downloaded from the original site.

I've seen good ones -- Buzz Aziani was loaned the content of 24 mainstreet.com site for a short time and he displayed it along with all of the aziani.com content. He had it until the owner of 24 mainstreet.com asked him to take it down.

Kelly Madison had Gucci LaMour's site up for a time. Another good one.

However, I seen bad ones too -- like the Brazzers acquisition of Reality Gang, whereby no photo galleries and just the video library were acquired and not all the girls who are being featured there are shown. Then it would be a waste of time and effort.

I never understood why someone would shut down a site. I mean, hosting can't be expensive. Even if they stop updating, only one or two members should pay to keep the lights on.

It's a long shot, but try contacting to Smithsonian Institute in the off chance that they've archived the content as the works of art they certainly are. You never know.

MCN had to have been one of the first nude modeling sites to offer HD videos. At least from what I can remember.

It depends on the reason they shut down.

If they were just tired of running the site, they might possibly resell the content as non-exclusive for use on other sites.

They might be trying to sell the sites and content as a total exclusive package.

If there is legal issues, like trouble between partners, the content will probably be tied up until resolved and it might even be that neither party can resell. Not saying this is what is happening with this site (I haven't heard anymore than you guys have) but I do know of sites where this has happened in the past. Raven Riley's site is one of them I know of...
