For not putting a fucking mouse on the console.
We've regressed over the last 12 years of first person shooters (FPS). We've gone from localized damage, limited health and smart enemies to singularity damage, unrealistic health and dumb enemies. All because MS and Sony didn't put a fucking mouse on their consoles.
I wouldn't own a PC for gaming (sans what runs natively under Linux, which is all I use on a PC, and have since 1998 virtually 100% of the time) if consoles could actually advance FPS gaming, instead of dragging it back to the age of original Doom.
The FPS genre has regressed. It is extremely more difficult to control look with the right analog stick than a mouse. That's why they've started removing localized/critical damage, etc... Although some game developers have come up with some "creative" ways to deal with it (like VATS in Fallout 3, after Elder Scrolls 4 regressed from localized in ES 3), it doesn't work for multiplayer.wow. What is your problem?
Huh? For the past 12 years on the PC, the FPS has constantly improved with more localized damage, a greater focus on accuracy, etc... -- things real, on-line players want. Why can't the freak'n consoles mirror that?FPS will never go the way your talking about, no money in it I guess.
Okay, let's talk RTS then. Panning and controlling units is a pain without a mouse as well. Basically anytime a mouse would be vastly superior, one runs into it repeatedly. But you know there are other games on consoles besides FPS.
My argument is not Console v. PC. My arguement is that console should replace the PC, for virtually everything. Also one good thing about consoles is you don't have to buy upgrades for em every year to run the latest games, unlike on a PC.
