The term Native American...simply means you were born in the USA.
If you are Indian, then you are Indian. I have several Indian friends and they HATE the term Native American.

pretty sad that being called someone from an entirely different continent is actually less patronizing, isn't it?
 
Hard to pin for me. My dad's side was right on the border of Germany and Denmark... I actually have a German last name with a Danish spelling. And my mom's side immigrated from Alsace around the turn of the century, which has been French for nearly all of its history, but was actually German right when they left. So by one measure, I could be considered 100% German, and by another I could be considered 50% Danish and 50% French :confused:
