This is usually for the people of the United States.
Now I don't accept "American", unless you are actually native american.
If you are Caucasian, you could say "Irish".
My dad's ancestry is British, and my mom's ancestry is a mix of just about everything. Let's see... there's Mexican, English, French, Moorish, Jewish, and Spanish. So, I'm a mix of all of the above.
Why? Are you ashamed of your own ethnicity? That's the wrong attitude to have. One must be proud of his ancestry, not be ashamed of it. It sounds to me like you've fallen prey to what the media wants. They advertise to the white middle class. If anyone wants to be part of the "in" crowd they have to be white, which is their standard of perfection. I don't think that people should wish they were anything else. :2 cents:
On the outside I'm black but as far as what ethnicity I'm kind of a mix. My ethnicity's are African, Jamaican, Haitian, Cherokee, Choctaw, and German. Because of the mix I have so many people in my family tree that are different skin colors that you wouldn't believe we are related until we either told you or you did a dna test. I love my family. I also agree with Fresno, there is no such thing as different races. There are different ethnicity's but only one race.
I have Belgian Flemish (50%), Dutch (25%) and Swiss (25%) ancestry,
but I am a world citizen and personally do not care about ethnical
background. People I (want to) know will never be asked and judged
upon this, if character and personality are okay you might even be as blue
as a Smurf.
