Yep, the good ole days are long gone. Now everyone's singing in English and all the songs are basically the same...freaking waste of time. I really loved to watch the ESC (or the Grand Prix de la Chanson d'Eurovision as it was called) back in the day, because I loved to listen to all those songs in different languages, with different melodies, rhythms, etc...but now, it's just a big melting pot of English speaking pop music. I can have that shit every day if I'd turn on the radio (which I don't). The only country that has really abandoned this pathetic event is Italy, because they've got their very own San Remo festival, which brings out fantastic music every year by the way.
There's so many great songs, but here's some of my all time favs:
Apart from that MIETTA and Amedeo MINGHI duet ("Vattene amore"), this is one of the great moments in San Remo history
