You do realize, don't you georges (suddenly it struck me - that's never a good way to start a sentence, when addressing georges ), that the Westboro Baptist people are the same ones who have "protested" next to the funerals of soldiers who were fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan?? They have their "God Hates Fags" signs, and since they also think that America is too tolerant of teh Gays ( :1orglaugh ), they also have signs like "God Hates America" - see, it's all cause and effect! Brilliant logic.

It's hard to imagine people lower than the hateful theocrats who are the right-wing evangelicals, but these people might be it.

Two of my uncles fought in vietnam and both were in the USAF, two of my cousins fought in the 1st desert gulf war and went to bosnia, one of them in the 101st aa division and the other was in the rangers. I have more than enough respect for American soliders because I have some members of my family who were in the US Army and Air Force who served proudly this country. So before spewing any kind of lame ass bs, make sure you know who you are talking about and that you get your facts straight. It's a free country and even idiots with stupid things to say have the right to do so as long as they stay within the law.

Obama and Michelle would be better served and better serve their daughters by telling them that in America people have the right to peacefully assemble and protest EVEN IF what they say is hurtful and stupid..they have that right. And he as president is sworn to uphold the document which affords them that right.

Tell them no matter what they hear or read on signs....just believe in their hearts that America is a much better/greater place because these people have that right even if they exercise it unwisely.

Then explain to them the alternative in the form of what was recently witnessed in post-election Iran. How people were killed and jailed simply for expressing a position in opposition to their government and that no matter what they hear or read....be thankful and proud that they as Americans can hear, read or express any point of view they choose.
