This is why they will never get their facts straight. They keep repeating it enough, and the average Joe is too lazy to look up the facts for themselves.

I'm not from the US, but both arguments seem misleading to me.

From what I understand - Rounding the numbers: GWB is "responsible" for about $7T, Reagan for just under $2T and Obama for $4.3T so far in less than 4 years.

Nothing to crow about from either side of the argument.

I've expressed similar sentiments in the past, tynar. Obama debt is reprehensible. You have to look back at who started deficit spending. Ronald Reagan was a proponent of "supply-side" economics. George Herbert Walker Bush aptly called supply-side "voodoo" economics. Once Reagan got those precious tax-cuts for the wealthy the milk was on the floor. Clinton and the GOP congress of the nineties tried to get it under control through compromise. Now, thanks to pissed off Republicans, compromise is a dirty word. So yeah, you can blame both sides but when you look closer it's obvious that the repulicans are the ones most to blame for where we're at. I'm not saying democrats are blameless, I'm just saying let's see those republicans take responsibility for their lions share of fucking the economy up.

Now, I know that Obama is the president, but how much power does he have when the house of representatives has a republican majority.
It seems to me that Obama is stymied whatever he tries to do, and the republicans can turn around and blame Obama even though they are the ones that are blocking any moves to do anything at all with the economy.
No doubt America will vote Republican next year and be back with a president that has no brains. Sarah Palin anyone?

B.O. had plenty of power when Democrats had the Congress and Senate. And yet they still didn't do anything but fail and drive this country into worse economic state.

And your saying B.O. is smart? That's a complete joke! The guy is a completely fool and dumbass reading his monitor. He wouldn't know what to do without it and would be slaughtered against the non-main stream media.

I never said he was smart, but compared to the previous clown that was voted into office twice, he's a genius.

But Obama followed the worst recession we've had, none of them had to follow that loss of revenue, jobs, or a bad world economy he did.

Really? Obama can fly jet fighters and land them on aircraft carriers? :dunno:

I don't think so. Can W. Bush?

And besides, what does a particular (unrelated to being POTUS) skill have to do with being intelligent? Bush scored very low on his pilot aptitude tests. He got the flying assignment because Daddy Bush pulled some strings. I would have been more impressed if the man had been able to speak standard English or use basic problem solving methodologies.

Ugh - Companies hire as they strategically need people. Nobody is holding off until Obama is out of office.

OWS - Do the protesters have jobs - yes and no. Understandable. There are quite a few of them and we have a 9% or so unemployment rate. Plus your going to get a mix no matter what. http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/T...1019/28-percent-of-OWS-protesters-are-over-40
Some of the posting I'm seeing are from people who are seeing only what they want to and are assuming all others are wrong. IMO this is coming from the left and the right. I haven't been to any of the "Occupy" protests and only know what I read, but many of the posts are contrary to that.

Bush - He isn't an idiot, he didn't score low on his IQ test, and he didn't score "low" on his pilot test because a low score is a fail. Sheesh, I don't rank him high on my favorite president list, but why make up all of these lies? He strikes me as ok intelligence, a bit lazy, and at times an under achiever. Not great qualities to be president, but not retarded. From what I read, he was actually a good pilot.

My perspective is that it is interesting how some people who seem to have a political agenda on the right or the left like to try and connect the dots of real facts. Doing so is editorial. Doing so with false information is lying. (If you lie, like I have seen a couple of posters do in this thread, and it can be quickly found out on wikipedia or snopes...well, that just makes you a liar and an idiot IMO)

...and I can post links that speak to Obama being a US citizen too, if you would like. :)

I think both parties are to blame here.
Tynar's post is accurate as far as I know. It also shows that the sins of Reagan in terms of debt is much less than Bush and Obama. Keep in
mind that Obama has only been there for 3 years. So, unless he turns spending around, which I don't think he is, then he could take the prize on this one.

The Republicans are clearly being pigheaded. This Anybody But Obama thing is not helping anyone. Blocking legislation for the sake of blocking is a bad strategy, but some of that seems to be hype from the Dems. They were accused of not having alternatives or amendments to the Affordable Healthcare legislation and just looking to block it. In fact, they did, but unless I misread, Obama only listened to those who would agree.

I feel the Republicans do us all a disservice because "The Pledge" doesn't sound bad to me. Don't raise taxes until you figure out a way to cut spending. That is sane thinking. Cut first. This is something Congress always (hyperbole) kicks down the road and doesn't deliver on. Cut first, then raise taxes.

The Republican radicals who just want a hard line on not raising taxes aren't doing anyone a favor including the Republicans.

Although "low", being a subjective, doesn't necessarily indicate a test failure (in my world, a 72 would be considered a low score, yet still passing - 71 a fail), I have to admit that yours is a very reasonable, rational post. I don't know what Bush's score was on the pilot's test. And so, yes, I have repeated what might be a myth about his low score (I didn't notice objective data in your links that spoke to his actual score - if it was there, I missed it)... much the same as those who still chatter about Obama's speaking skills away from the teleprompter.

So yes, we sometimes believe what we choose to believe about certain people. Does that make us liars, as you claim? Not necessarily. IMO, only if someone is claiming or repeating something contrary to a proven or known fact is it a lie.
Lie: "The earth is flat."
Opinion: "Bush/Obama is an idiot."

But still, I liked your post. :hatsoff:

Question: How does a stupid person make a small fortune in business?
Answer: Start with a LARGE fortune.
