A west Georgia business owner is stirring up controversy with signs he posted on his company's trucks, for all to see as the trucks roll up and down roads, highways and interstates:

"New Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone."

"Can't afford it," explained the employer, Bill Looman, Tuesday evening. "I've got people that I want to hire now, but I just can't afford it. And I don't foresee that I'll be able to afford it unless some things change in D.C."

The federal deficit increased by 6.6 trillion dollars under George Bush.
We were pissing away over 9 billion dollars a month in Iraq thanks to Bush's baseless pre-emptive invasion of a sovereign nation.
The unemployment rate was in freefall when Bush left office. That momentum continued for some months until it bottomed out at over 10.

Since Looman has decided to boycott hiring anyone while Obama is in office, then I think it would be a good idea to boycott Looman's trucking company. Besides, I thought the right was all about personal fiscal responsibility - if the guy doesn't have enough to hire anyone, it's his fault, not someone hundreds of miles away.

I work in the trucking industry and this has been the biggest growth in 5 years. There is shortage of drivers, simple as that. If he cant grow, he just being beat by the competition! On the other point rates are just flat due to rising costs that cannot be passed on.

Most o f the Occupiers have jobs, and go to said jobs.

What this guy is saying makes no sense at all. Essentially he's saying that jobs are a problem, and he's going to exacerbate that problem until the politician he doesn't like is voted out. That's just dumb.

I hope he has a lot of employees leave so that he is forced to either: 1. hire new people, even though he said he wouldn't, or 2. go out of business.

Actually, he sounds to me like he KNOWS how to run a business. Why would he hire more people, when the work he has, can only support the current staff in the company?

If people are standing or sitting around getting paid to do nothing they are government employees.

Whether he knows how to run a business or not is up for debate. But most anyone who has made it through even a year of business school would tell you that it isn't wise to hitch your business to political statements. So whether it's Bush or Obama being criticized, if the actual reason he's not hiring is because demand is down, then he risks alienating some portion of the demand base that's still there by doing foolish things like this. He should have crafted a positive statement and left politics at the door, IMO.
