RIP. Big fan of the show. He walked out after the third season along with McLean Stevenson. Unfortunately his career never took off after that. He got active in politics for a while, and in spokesman work. Good actor.

Sad to hear. I thought he retired from acting shortly after leaving MASH to focus on investments. He saw the dotcom & housing bubbles way in advance.

I remember his cameo in Serpico (1973). In the scene, he plays a corrupt police detective who pulls a switchblade on Al Pacino in the precinct. (3:22 - 3:28 of this trailer)
