Vote the best guitarist

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Carlos Santana are some of my favorite guitarists. And who could forget Eric Johnson's "White Cliffs of Dover"

persona non grata
Wayne Kramer (MC5) is my favourite guitarist simply because his songs kick the living shit out of everything else (and he´s got the good taste to stay away from those horrible four minute solos (the only guitarist that can get away with four minute solos is Neil Young)).

Voting best Guitarist is like voting for the best singer ... It depends on their genre. Rock, Blues, Spanish, Jazz, Punk, Country and Metal all have brilliant guitarists. Who is the best? It's a matter of opinion that can never be quantified!

So Rock On :banger: Or is that Metal on or Blues on or whatever :nanner:

I will say my "favorite" guitarist is Pete Townshend. It was Pete who first used the Gibson Les Paul plugged into a Marshall Stack!

A little trivia. Know why the Marshal stacks have the "slant" cut into the top cabinet? When The Who were a young band traveling around in a van in England they needed the cut in the top cabinet to fit them in the van. So Jim Marshall fashioned the cut in the cabinet so they'd fit in the van.

Pete Townshend Used HiWatt amps, and if he did use Marshall...which is very possible, it would be in recent years, and I believe he's using Fender Strats now. I know he used Les Paul's, but for most of the earlier stuff, it was Rickenbacker, and then most famously, and for the Tommy, and Live At Leeds years, Gibson SG's with P90's. The one he used for the Tommy tour sold at auction for $75,000...or so I've read, somewhere. I love The Who, and Pete is a great song writer...and I would call him the greatest RHYTHM guitarist ever...but he just doesn't pop into my mind when I think of phenomenal skill. I do regret not listing Carlos Santana though, I can't believe I forgot him....since I was just listening to him the other knight. I would like add Todd Rundgren, and Rik Emmett, from Triumph.
