"V" for Vendetta

Whoa!

The first 15 minutes or so I didn't really get into the character...but I tell ya...this flick was smart and irreverent! Sure its your typical "revenge" based movie, but it goes a bit deeper than that.

The story definitely mirrored much of what is going on today. I love movies like this.
Anyone else see this movie?

I have it coming on netflicks and am looking forward to it. The shorts made it look good.

V for Vendetta and Clerks 2 are the best movies since sping began. Pirates too!

Screw Superman and Da Vinci and Xmen.

Good movie, but if you want more of this go hunt down the graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, yes it was a comic book first, most people dont know that.
Moore took his name off of the movie like he did with From Hell and League of Extraordinary Gentleman, says he doesnt like how Hollywood treats his work.
Hell, do what Frank Miller did, get behind the camera and show us how your work should be represented. Sheesh.:D

My friend loves the movie, I thought it was gonna be some stupid action film like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, where it takes place in London and everything, but on the contrary, the plot makes the movie. Thumbs up from me.

I brought it on Dvd but then i read the graphic novel and i was shocked about how much was changed don't get me wrong its still a great movie just not as good as it could have been had it followed the graphic novel closer.

see, i read the comic first and thought the movie was pretty faithful. sure there were differences, but there always are. sin city being the exception.
it was a good movie nonetheless.

pitino

are you talking to me?
great movie!

:glugglug: That was a great movie! Just bought the DVD, it still thrilled me the second time!

:dunno: Didn't like it. Why is it whenever someone uses a sword in a movie even to cut up a tomato, it makes that cha-ching sound?

I try not to pay attention to things like that. I found out if you looked at all the little things movies get wrong when they should know better it will drive you crazy or at least it does me.

I think it's the fault of the director, either not caring or not knowing the difference or not thinking anyone will notice if the special effects are spectacular enough. Certain things just stand out because they happen so much in so many movies and on TV. It's like the "CLICK-CLICK" sound when someone cocks a gun. The Police knock down the door, run up to the bad guys and everyone goes "CLICK-CLICK" . Pretty clear in a combat situation, you should do your "CLICK-CLICK" before you enter the building. Something last week I was watching, they went "CLICK-CLICK" with their revolvers like cocking an automatic weapon, but didn't even cock back the hammers.

They always praise those "Foley artist" sound guys for improving the sound, but they get it wrong all too much. But usually I'm already bored with the film before I really start to get annoyed at those things.

I tend to like more cerebral films than action. I just watched the new "Don't Come Knocking" and really liked "Amelie"

Why do they make ANY sound? Heh.. try watching action movies when you know what any given gun sounds like.

"WTF, is he shooting an M60 or the desert eagle that I'm seeing?!"

Not only that, but pointing a gun at somebody doesnt automatically COCK the dang thing.. ::main two rants done::

Anyway, decent film. Plods along but ultimately a smart flick that really connects due to our current event context.

And ya know what, not even thinking to oneself that being a traitor to the USA burns that whole living-in-America bridge... but America pokes its nose into EVERY other country so I really think that if we didnt play sheriff to the rest of the world then there would be an uprising or three all the time.
