So I had a disagreement with a friend the other day over the procedure of using the penny tray.
I believe it is commonly accepted that the customer may take a penny from the tray is needed...up to 3 pennies if really needed.
However, my friend is of the mind that the penny tray is used only at the discretion of the cashier working the register. So only if it is in the best interest of the cashier to make change easier, then they may take a penny out and give less coins back to the customer.
Also if you use a penny, do you make a point to leave one some where else?
So what is correct penny tray etiquette?
Dumb topic I know, but the argument ranked up to the likes of the right way to put toilet paper on the paper dispenser. :fight:
