Yeah, about a year ago a major news network in China aired an Onion parody like it was a real story. Gold.

Wait a minute- I know it's the onion, but I got to thinking. A porn star's career could end because of using the dreaded "N word", but someone can create an entire porn series called "Your daughters fucking an "N" " and that's ok?

Of course, as I understand it, the name of that series has changed, but you get what I mean.

I make fun of people who think The Onion is real. As a matter of fact, a few years back someone wrote into Reader's Digest to complain about how The Onion is an awful newspaper, blah, blah, blah.

On that note...

I adore The Onion. I've read it for at least 14 years. Hell, I used to cut out articles and the Red Meat cartoons to hang on the outside of my locker in HS.

The Onion is parody, and parody, IMO, at it's best.

Native english speakers often miss that, so I can't imagine that english as a 2nd language speakers are going to pick up on the parody easily at all.
