US Open 2009, NY -- Tennis

Figure I would start a thread seeing US Open is starting tonight.

Starting out rather well seeing how long the first round between Vera Dushevina and Venus Williams lasted.

Looking forward to this year's US Open

Serena won pretty easily, but Venus is having a tougher time

I sadly did not get to watch it. I instead watched America's Got Talent because I know someone on there. So I am supporting them.

Yeah, Ivanovic had to leave Wimbledon, I believe it was, due to her injuries. She seems to be hitting it hard despite her young age. I hope to see her get a great trainer and get her back up in the top seeds again!

I might check some of it out tomorrow during midday.

I've been watching everyday. The early rounds are always the best, because the later rounds you only get a couple matches. Sabine Lisicki made it through which delited me wholly. What a totally sexy blonde babe, eh? I hope the American male's like Taylor Dent, John Isner, Sam Querry and A-Rod all do well. I enjoy watching Isner and Dent the best, and Roddick. It'd be nice to have an American male win the US Open for a change. I hope Roddick pulls it off after the devastating loss at Wimbledon.
I was sad to see the gorgeous Ana Ivonovic ousted. Her serve was just totally hectic.

Not going well for Safin. After a great first set which he won 6-1 he has looked out of sorts and is now a break down in the fourth set having lost the second and third.

A great player looking like going out with a whimper.

I just watched the last 25 minutes of the match. I am waiting to watch Jankovic play and Dementieva.

I really miss watching Andre Agassi playing in this particular tournament.

Some of the best matches ever played at the Open were night timers with Todd Martin. I know I saw at least a couple with him where the points were spectacular all match, and they went late, late into the night. I always thought the late matches that go forever were great classic matches.

Yes! I love when that happens. That is why I was excited between Williams and Dushevina opening night! It was a great way to kick off 2009!
