"Camelot"... ha, does anyone know how the Kennedys made their fortune?

HINT: It was illegal at the time, and ol Ted loved to drink it... ;)

Is this a quiz or something? It's common knowledge that Joe Kennedy made a fortune bootlegging booze from Canada.

America has The Kennedy's & the nonsense of 'Camelot'.
The Brits have a monarchy! :hatsoff:

But camelot was only around for few years. It died with JFK,while the the monarchy goes on and on and on and on.

Sure Joe Sr was a bootlegger, did very well in the stock market after that. The sons aren't to be held responsible for the sins of the father though right? 3 of his sons died in service to america in one or another.Joe Jr basically went on suicide mission in WW2 and we know what happened to JFK and RFK.No matter what you think of their politics I think they gave a lot and were willing to put their lives on the line for what they beleived in.Compare that to somebody like GWB who carefully avoided getting in harms way when he had his chance during vietnam.

Don't forget Clinton. He went to Russia to avoid Vietnam.

Ted certainly didn't put his life on the line to save Mary Jo Kopechne. I don't revel in anyone dying, but Ted Kennedy was a piece of garbage...

Thank you! This is exactly what I was thinking. Who's dick will Obama suck to find loop holes in the system now?

Ted Kennedy is a joke

Setting aside that John and Robert Kennedy were both pieces of garbage also, probably even bigger than Ted Kennedy, Don't you find it ironic that in the paragraph you tell somebody not to put blame on somebody because of an unchosen association it seems like your trying to give somebody credit for that same association.

What the fuck are you talking about, D-rock? In what way were JFK and RFK "pieces of garbage" as you call them? What "association" did they have that qualifies them for such a moniker?

They were Democrats.

That's all it takes for some people.

And vice versa.

Lets just say I don't see it the same way. While I barely remember JFK,one of my earliest child memories is being sent home from 2nd grade day he was killed. But RFK who I remember well was transformed person by his brothers murder and really became a great inspirational leader who was on his way to the presidency in 1968 before being murdered. Not sure why you consider them "pieces of garbage".Was it the stories of womanizing and such? If so I could fricking care less about those types of things. It was the culture of the family ,work hard, play hard and live it to the hilt.Americans need to gain some maturity and worry about what people in public office propose as public policy and not who the hell they sleep with or have sex with.

America's slide and lose of a positive self image began with the assasination of JFK and then was compounded by the summer of 68 when RFK and MLK were murdered.Roll in the vietnam debacle and watergate and we have just never been the same since.

I do not mind someone getting a piece while in office. That is between them and their wife. I just think they are garbage when they do it on my dime. SC Gov, Clinton, JFK, FDR.

I have not liked one of O's policies so far, but I cannot think of a better family figure so far than O.

I agree with you to a "T" on Obama. The other points not so much:

Although, I typically don't care what people do regarrding their sex lives, I will say for both JFK and Clinton that if you are willing to cheat on your wife (which is certainly a deceptive move) then other, more important issues, would be seemingly far easier to sweep under the rug and out of the public's eye if they saw fit.

I'm sure they care for their families a great deal more than the average citizen regardless of their positions as Presidents. So, if you can be dishonest to them, of course you can be dishonest to the public. This makes my skin crawl....

That is why I don't like womanizing with regard to presidents, senators or anybody else in politics. Everybody else, I could care less, as it doesn't really impact me. For example, Roger Clemens does not have any determining factor in the outcome of my life, so I couldn't care less. Political figures though and others with influence....a big no-no in my eyes.

All that said, I don't think any of us are not without our faults OR redeemable qualities. Senator Kennedy included. May he rest in peace.

I'm not going to argue politics. A very important and passionate Senator has passed away. He had a very commanding presence and will be missed. May he rest in peace. I had the privilege of seeing him speak at the Capital during a visit to Washington D.C. Godspeed Mr. Kennedy....

You really must be lazy. Any half-ass could do a google search and *discover* that Bill Clinton spent his Vietnam time in England, as a Rhodes Scholar...something basically only the best of the best attain. Russia? Did you pull that out of your bunghole?

Teddy Kennedy was not my favorite Kennedy. I feel bad that he missed out on the Healthcare debate. The Dems could certainly use his leadership. But, I recently learned that Teddy Kennedy was the chief roadblock in preventing Richard Nixon, yes, THAT NIXON, from implementing National Health Insurance....

There is kind of a tragic familial curse which has haunted the Kennedy Family for 40 years seems something truly out of Arthurian Lore.....

RIP Senator Kennedy:crying:

Regardless of what you think about Ted Kennedy, he accomplished more in his lifetime than all of the people on this porn board complaining about him put together.

Fuck you guys.

RIP Ted.

Tell us how you really feel.
