Twinkie maker Hostess files for bankruptcy

Anyone see the "No Reservations" episode (Cleveland) where the book store was in an old Twinkie factory? The pipes still contained the filling in its unwhipped form.....and, years and years later, you can still eat it.

I have no hate for Twinkies, but I'm leery of any "food" that doesn't have a shelf life. :1orglaugh

No surprise. It's time has come. I am not a healthy eater but I will admit that the trend towards healthier eating is the direction today. Market forces are in place.

It's sad to see an American icon go, but to be honest, I can't remember the last time I bought any Hostess product.

This is the story of the collapse of American industry in a nutshell (or a Ding Dong).

The assembly workers are probably going to get fucked over, and the suits will remain unaccountable for being unable to figure out a way to continue selling Twinkies, which is pretty close to selling a bag of air.

Unbelievable.

I like ho-ho's too, they are a little better than the twinkie when I think about it lol

Talk about snack cakes. Drakes makes Ring Dings. Going back to the olden days of your, that shit was 25 cents and was the size of a hockey puck. Sad to see the Twinkie lowered down into the grave.

Sorry, but I'm a Little Debbie man. Give me my Swiss Cake Rolls any day over Twinkies or HoHo's

You need to taste a Yodle from Hostess-Drakes. Bigger, better, and before the swiss roll. Little Debbie has good product. Cheap, tasty, but not up to the taste and quality of Hostess-Drakes. Little Debbie will be here for a long while though. They can crank out a million a minute in their factories.
