i love poker. ive been playing since the moneymaker boom. but, i dont just play hold em. i prefer h.o.r.s.e. and omaha. i wish they would show more of those two games.
Well, since h.o.r.s.e is a rotation game combining Hold 'Em, Omaha, Razz, Seven Card Stud - High, and Seven Card Stud High-Low (Eight or Better) they would really be showing those FIVE games. I agree though, just playing Hold 'Em gets boring after a while.
*I **** omaha simply because calculating the pot odds on every hand gives me head ache. It's not a very profitable game either.
why do you **** calculating pot odds only in omaha? its the same as hold em. however much to call as to whats already in the pot. simple. but, i think you mean calculating your odds of winning the hand. in omaha that can be a pain in the ass, but thats why i like it the best.
Yes, thats what I mean. The hand changes so dramatically with each turn of a card. Its hard keeping up with what possibles are leading. The possibility of being up against a set or a flush or whatever is always out there. Not my thing. I can't keep up with it. I guess I just need more practice. Still not very profitable for the people I know that are good at it. But I agree the tournaments can be fun really in all games. Less risk involved.
I like the WPT and the new PPT on the travel channel the best. They show more hands than the others.
I have a regular game and I play limit hold 'em occasionally at the casino now. My *******-in-law and ****** are sort of semi-pros. They play on-line a lot and at the casino. They've taught me a lot.

Omaha, like any poker, is not profitable only if you're not any good at it. In any poker game the money is made in the marginal hands. Anyone can play good cards and fold bad ones. It's those that maximize the pots with marginal hands that they aren't totally sure are the best hands, and are able to sniff out a bluff and call big bets with 3rd pair, that make the most money. The rest of us are basically at the mercy of the luck of the cards.
