Tour de France 2009

After this tream-time-trial, it seems that this Tour de France will now turn to a fight between Lance Armstrong and alberto Contador.

Alberto won the 1st round by finishing 2nd of the first Time Trial (Lance : 10th).
Lance counter attack on the 3rd stage, trapping Contador (and also many of the other challengers, such as Andy Schleck, Cadel Evans, Carlos Sastre or Denis Menchov) and finishing 40" befor them.

Lance may not have the power he had in his prime, Alberto may be better than him for that but Lance still has his sharp mind.

Next round will be @ Arcalis, the 1st mountain stage with a very hard final climb.
Will Armstrong be able to follow Contador ? Will Contador attack ? Will Armstrong attack ?

If the Frenchies haven't caught Lance back when he was good, they aren't likely to catch him now. Of course he's a dirty athlete. Cycling is the dirtiest sport in the world.

I have no interest in this except if Lance gets caught doping or gets in a fight or something.

He is a loser who can't let go of the spotlight. Everyone hates him and, yet, I guess the money and camera time are too powerful for him to ignore. Why can't he just go away?

Basso, Ullrich, Rasmussen, Mancebo, Vinokourov, Ricco, Valverde, etc... They've all been caught. So to me, the only reason why Lance hasn't been caught, is that THEY DON'T WANT TO CATCH HIM.

Lance on the Tour de France, it means more attract for the american medias, so more money for the organiser...

In 1999, Lance got caught. He was positive to something that is forbidden. Afterwards he said he has a presxciption from his doctor to use this. The rules of the tour says that ccyclist who have presprciptions from doctors to use things that are usually forbidden have to say it before the beginning of the race. Lance said it AFTER beeng positive. He should havec been sacked. He wasn't He won. the Tour this years (his first). The organiser lt him win, even knowing he was cheating.

Lance will never been caught, he's protected by the organiser, they don't want to catch him. He means money, lotsd of money...

Who the hell still cares about freakin cycling??? Bunch of juiced up criminals slash drug addicts riding around France on bikes. Fuck that shit...ha ha ha ha ha...:thefinger

It's been a great Tour de France so far! I hope Lance and Levi turn up the heat when they hit the Pyrenees mountains in a couple of days.

Sure is shaping up to be an epic battle through the mountains. I suspect Lance may go on to win this years Tour too (that would piss loads of people off!!!)

Stage 5:
Voeckler wins Tour's fifth stage

Frenchman Thomas Voeckler celebrated his maiden Grand Tour victory on stage five of the Tour de France.

But if he fails if he's not ebven on the podium, this would piss many people off too. Just not the same persons...

Should make a formal charity ride and then make a team FreeOnes complete with FreeOnes biking jersies. ;)
Yeah !!!

And naked OCSM on the podiums to give the jerseys :D

Yeah !!!

I will definately ride then....:nanner: wheres that bike of mine now?.....
Come to think of it a naked OCSM running just in front of my bike all the way would help enormously!!!

And petra I want a proper FO tshirt if I win not one of the sexy OCSM tank tops you hear?

Riding bikes naked is not good, too much chafing, too much sunburn.

OSCM's in tight lycra would be enjoyable enough.

I'm ok with the sexy OCSM tank top if it has been weared by a real OCSM.
In thiqs case, I would even acccept a G-string :rubbel:

Well amid all the drug taking, doping scandals, Lance Armstrong etc, theres the small issue of the actual race:

Stage 6:
Hushovd overhauls Millar for win

Britain's David Millar was denied victory in the sixth stage of the Tour de France as he was caught with less than 2km left in Barcelona.

A very good stage today.

For em the TDF started today.
Excellent stage - great ride by Millar.
The bunch chased him down and he was caught with 2kms to go.
The climb at Mountjuich is particularly tough - climbed it 5 years ago!

Several major casualties todays.
Tom Boonen hit the deck hard.
Denis Menchov struggled too.

Looking forward to Arcalis tomorrow.
I can well remember Jan Ullrichs great ride there in 1997.

Yes I agree a great stage, this weekend should be particularly good as they move into the Pyrenees mountains, where the race will start to be won or lost. Thrilling weekends worth of racing I am hoping. This should start to separate the serious contenders from the not so good.

What is Jan Ullrich doing these days, what a fantastic rider?

Jan Ullrich retired in 2006 short hafter it was revealed that his name was in the Operación Puerto doping case (a spanish doctor supplying riders with doping and telling them how to use these materials was arrested by spanich police and a list of his "patients" was found, many famous riders were on that list : Mancebo, Ullrich, Basso, Heras, Beloki, Hamilton, Sevilla, Pantani...).

Alberto Contador VS Lance Armstrong, round 3

-Contador had won round 1 (he finished 2nd on the opening tim-trial, Lance was 10th)
-Armstrong had won round 2 (He trapped Contador during stage 3 and took him 40 seconds)

-Contador wins round 3 : Attacking 2 or 3 km before the finish line of the very first mountain stage, he succeed to get back t 2nd position, Lance is 3rd.
Wether he couldn't or didn't wanted to, Lance didn't try to follow Alberto.

Next round will probably be on stage 13 or maybe 15.
