tornado's are relentless this year!!

Whats with all these tornado's wreaking havoc in the US?? I know they destroy everything they touch including peoples lives.. they are savage storms that kill; destroy; maim; cause grief and sorrow; and I hate that people are killed by them; but they are an awesome spectacle of human nature.. I have always been fascinated by them.. they are beautiful in a sense; please don't reply to this thread and preach to me about the devastion and all the other awful things that tornado's do when they touch down in populated area's I know and comprehend all of the ramifications of tornado's.. I even hate to see animals die as a result of these mysterious wraths of human nature..

their are people who chase these things and love them more than I do.. I would love to study tornado's; so maybe despite the force and the # of tornado's every year; their will be a way to forecast them way before they can hurt and kill people.. someday hopefully we'll know atleast an hour in advance of a tornado; if not longer so even more life can be saved.. possibly even have enough time to tend to livestock and save all the helpless animals that are always victims because people hardly have enough time to take cover and save themselves.. :dunno: :hatsoff:

Tornado's are a part of our natural world, in a sick sort of way it good to see that man is still at the mercy of nature........now if we can just stop rebuilding the super rich floks houses that sit on a hill that is guarenteed to turn into a mud slide we'll be ok.

I used to want to be a storm chaser. Tornados are everywhere this year its crazy. I had one just miss me by a few miles earlier this year. Yards were torn up and where it hit people died. With summer here tho, they are probably going to get worse before they get better. I drove through hail yesterday ugh.

In the last 7 days I have had 4 tornado warnings go out just for the county I live in. I think at least two of them were confirmed to have touched down, with one only a couple of miles from where I live. While tornados aren't unheard of where I'm at We’re also far from an area in the county where there is a lot of them so it's getting a little ridiculous. That's not even counting all the severe storms we have had roll though here and all the areas that are getting flooded in the state, and again flooding isn't unheard of but also isn't something that is a normal problem around here. In another hour or two we are supposed to be getting even more rain. Luckily it's not going to be heavy this time.

I wanted to be a Storm chaser when I was younger!

Lots of Storm chaser have saved lives and helped to develop some early warning systems.

We need more people out there so we can learn more!

I did read once that you get bad tornados once every couple of years to once every few years. However considering that the population increases and that more towns and cities are built then you will get more tornados reported and maybe many deaths. The thing is you can't stop nature at the end of the day.

I grew up in "tornado alley" I know from experience that tornadoes are much stronger out in the country than when they get closer to town. Out in the sticks there is nothing to break up the wind and they tear shit up. They don't affect rural areas near as much due to all the buildings serving to break up the wind. I'm not saying they never tear up subdivisions, I'm just saying its far less likely.

I seen a tv programme once that tornado proof buildings are being designed, I hope that they do get constructed cause they will save alot of lives.

When I was in school I had to wait for ages in geography class for the teacher to get to storms cause storms fasinate me as well. I live in the UK so we don't get many tornados but every once in a while they do get reported, we do on occassion though get storms and I love thunder and lightning.

Here in Omaha we just had night classes evacuated on Wednesday because of a tornado warning.

Corning and Little Sioux, IA both were devastated by tornadoes. In my city, we have had about ten or so touch-downs or potentials within the last week.
I feel real sympathy for western Iowa.

That is a fucking scary pic. I confess I've been known to do a youtube tornado vid search lately...I really am fascinated by them. But the story about the tragedy at the Little Souix camp...so sad.

Tornadoes are nature's freak show....they truly are awe-inspiring.

Don't men to be picky and I know it's not really the point, but twice you referred to tornadoes as related to human nature. :dunno:

Anyway, we had a couple of touchdowns here the other night and heaps of funnel clouds about, no damage in the area though.
