Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in a jet-powered car while filming for the programme.

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has a "significant brain injury" following a car crash, doctors say.

However according to the BBC website, doctors at Leeds General Infirmary also said they were "reasonably optimistic" the 36-year-old would make a good recovery.
