ThunderCats cool or not

Very cool. And the comics written by Ford Gilmore a couple years ago were quite cool as well.

let me put it this way, has thundercats ever contributed in some way to getting you laid?

not that the goal is just to get laid, but I mean like, Ok, the Fonz was cool back in the 60's and people wanted to be like him. Many people today still like him (nostalgia) and the show and he's regarded as a cultural icon...but if you act like him or try to be him than it won't impress anyone and they will think it is not cool (current relevance.)

I have to partially agree with the people that think things don't need to be relevant to be cool. It's like those movie critics that don't like a movie if it doesn’t have some complicated plot or doesn't tackle important in depth issues. Those can be very good,...but sometimes people just like to see things blown up.

i didn't say it wasn't good. I just don't think it's hip, trendy, fashionable, in vogue, the hot thing, etc.

what was the ranking for thundercats on popular Tv shows this month? none at all. it's not even on TV. if it was so cool, it would be airing on must see TV. the simpsons was on 20 years ago, and it's still in prime time spot and top rated, so i'd say that it is "cool."

how is that a bad comparison? That's my point. why aren't they still making thundercats episodes? cuz it's not cool.

None of the cartoons aimed towards the youth at that time are still around except maybe TMNT and Scooby Doo. There are also lots of politics involved w/ broadcast. Most of it is bullshit. Check out Disney's 65 episode rule. Or the general 100 episode limit.

I think it was cool enough back in the 80's, but it doesn't stand up to what's being done these days. I think it would be cool if it got an update, the way cartoon network updated He-Man a few years ago.

I think comparing it The Simpsons is wrong, too. That show was allowed to be more adult than Thundercats.
I'm sure the people that worked on Thundercats would have loved to have had the kind of freedom the writers on The Simpsons have enjoyed over the years.
The only proof I need of that are those outtakes that surfaced a few years ago. If you haven't heard them - check these out.

Thundercats rocked!!....One of my favorite episodes was the trails when Lion-o had to prove himself as the leader and beat the other thundercats in various competitions...

ThunderCats Ho. Nuff said. Gotta love it. All those cartoons from the 80's were masterpieces, now we got ... o hell I dont even know the mindless action shows kids watch now. (Pokemon, Yugi-oh, Naruto???)

I recently got the Thundercats DVD and was excited to watch the first few episodes. But once the novelty, and nostalgia wore off, it was subpar at best.

In retrospect, it was a great and ground-breaking cartoon when it first came out, then again, I was 9 so what did I know. It just didn't survive the test of time.

I just watched the trailers. They look like scenes from a cheesy low budget movie. I think I'll have to pass on this one.
Voltron was MUCH better, IMO.
Which one? The one with the lions, or the one with the cars?

I think some of the most important lessons in my life were drummed into to me at the end of TC episodes... and for anyone that didn't see the later series - Pumyra - what a woman/cat/thing!
