Those that observe Memorial Day, what ya got cooking?

We will have hot dogs and burgers for those that want them, but the tradition at my humble abode is a seafood boil. Steamed clams jumbo shrimp with new red potatoes and silver queen corn on the cob. Iced tea and homemade ice cream.

What are you serving?

In terms of deciding whose house to invite myself over to, I'm now split between you and what Mariah will inevitably make.

Decisions, decisions...

Not sure I can compete with her but my seafood boil is damn good.

You have a standing invitation however.

Blue....No oysters?

Actually, on this Memorial Day I will be going to visit Mom and Dad @ Golden Gate National Cemetary where they are buried together.

So tommorow, it's BBQ baby ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, potatoe salad and collard/mustard greens grown in my yard. And after that, a neat glass of Jamison's Black and a Padron robusto cigar.

The only oysters we can get here this time of year are Gulf oysters. They taste like diesel fuel. We consume our oysters during the fall and winter. Especially when the water is cold and they are good and salty.
