The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
For any *** who's ever felt frazzled, overwhelmed or rushed, Oprah says this show is for you. "It's your ****-up call to slow down," she says. "What happened to my guest today could so easily happen to any of you."
Brenda and her husband, Gary, got their two young *********, Allison and Cecilia, dressed and ready to go. Then, in a departure from their regular routine, Brenda loaded 2-year-old Cecilia into her car to take her to the babysitter's house.
"I had a dentist appointment, and I asked Brenda to take Cecilia," Gary says. "I normally took both Cecilia and Allison, dropped Cecilia off at the sitter and Allison off at preschool."
With Cecilia ******** in the backseat, Brenda pulled out of the driveway at about 6 a.m. When she realized it was too early to drop her youngest ***** off, she decided to run a quick errand. Brenda stopped at the store to buy doughnuts, a treat for the returning teachers.
After loading her car with snacks, she got on the road that led to her school and drove straight there. With her mind racing through all the things she needed to accomplish before teachers arrived, Brenda got right to work. "I had lots of things to set up," she says. "I was nervous and frantic that morning because it was such an important day to get the school year [off] to a great start."
The day began with a staff meeting, followed by lunch. While chatting with new teachers between meetings, Brenda says she talked about her *********. "My feeling was it was a great first start," she says. "It was going to be a great school year, and it was a great start to the day."
At about 4 p.m., Brenda was in her office, getting ready to head home when all hell broke loose. "A good teacher friend of mine -- sometimes I think it was a blessing it was her -- was on her way home, and she walked by my car," Brenda says. "She ran into my office and she said, 'Brenda, your baby's in the car.'"

A) No, that can't easily happen to "anyone of" us. Who in the fuck forgets that their baby is in the backseat of their car? Terrible parents...that's who.
B) I know that it can't be easy for this woman to have to deal with what she did, but...
Gary doesn't hold Brenda responsible, but Brenda still blames herself. "I realized the most important person in the world to me lost out because I didn't plan well enough," she says. "She's the one that slipped through the cracks."
...she should be blaming herself. It was her own stupidity that ****** her baby, not some random act of accidental death. If she was driving down the road and got blindsided by a ***** driver and her baby was ****** during the accident, then it wouldn't be her fault. But, she was the one who left her baby in the backseat of an overheated car for 8+ hours...it is her fault and nobody elses.
Here is an excerpt from another (older) article...
Clermont County Prosecutor Don White continued this Thursday to defend his decision not to file criminal charges against Slaby.
White says Cecilia’s death was an accident, not a crime.
Union Township police had recommended a charge of ***** endangering, but White said the case lacked an element of recklessness that would be needed to obtain a conviction.

Ok, this is what pisses me off the most about this story. Does everybody remember that woman who got arrested for leaving her **** in the car for a few minutes while she was stopped in a Wal-Mart parking lot? Ok, that lady got arrested (and should have, as she broke the law) for being a negligent parent, but this lady left her baby in an overheated car for over 8 hours, which resulted in the *****'s death, and they say that her story "LACKED an element of recklessness?" How much more reckless can you get?
:dunno: +
I feel bad for the ****** of the ******, the surviving ******** and any other ****** member involved...not this piece of **** ******.
