Thin person kicked off flight for fat 14-year-old to have two seats to sit in

Torn & Frayed.
Earlier this year, Southwest Airlines, came under fire for removing an overweight passenger from a flight.

Not that it matters;but it wasn't just any fat passenger,it was director Kevin Smith.

Fat people should not be allowed out in civilised society. It's unsightly.

Fine I will never take you to the make your own ice cream sundae bar with fried cheese buffet ever again.

When we need reminded of how much this world sucks, we need look no further than the stories posted on FreeOnes forums.

The airline companies really need to overhaul the way they run shit. A person shouldn't be making it all the way onto the plane just to be told they have to get off for someone else. The whole "haha, fat Americans" bullshit isn't the issue.
I don't know. Maybe they should treat it kinda like shipping packages. Get the ticket buyer's weight and girth.
We can go on and on (aimlessly) about fat people (I'm skinny as a pole, btw), but that shit won't change. It's the airlines that need to fix their shit.
...but, they won't because they have us by the balls. How else are people going to fly?

Fine! Great! Good! I'm lactose intolerant dumbass! You ever wonder why I shit my pants in your car on the way back to your place every time we go there? The stains on your seat and up the side of your interior tell the story better than I ever could.

Unreal, the woman had every right to be pissed.
I'd be pissed. This kid had to be super fat. I have seen some big people on flights, this kid had to be huge.

It's pretty simple -- if you can't fit in a single seat, you pay for two (or three!). If you can't afford it and need two or there aren't enough seats available, you should be offered a refund.
The only exception should be a plane switch to a smaller jet; if a patron can't comfortably fit in a single seat they should be offered two -- if there is not enough space available, they should be rescheduled and compensated.

It's true that "economizing" keeps making seats smaller. Don't like it? Don't patronize airlines that outsource South Korean air jets, for example. I'm only 6'4 (not a giant by any means), and I can't stand up straight in the cabin nor fit in one of those bathrooms hunched over. I won't fly Delta (who uses the ultra-small cabins) or let the employees use them on business trips.

Fat people shouldn't have rights. :nono:

The way I see it, neither the fat or thin passenger is to blame.
It's the airline's fault for letting the situation happen, where they gave her a ticket to a plane she wouldn't be able to stay on. As I said before, the airlines need to modify the way they run this. I know they didn't realize they would have this fat kid situation until it was right there in front of them. So, they need to modify the way they do business.
Taking into account, all the other stresses of travel, do people also have to be worried about being kicked off a flight at last minute because of someone else? Does it have to be a gamble?

How does a 14 year old get that big? What the hell are his parents doing? I' m amazed these days by some of the terrible parenting that's going on out there.

I don't know about anybody else but in a situation like this I'm siding against the person that requires two seats to fill and only paid for one if I have to pick between two people.

really, no shit.
its the states , you can smell a lawsuit there just by looking at someone.

sad but true, in a situation like this and a million others businesses base their decisions on who's more likely to sue and win than whats right or wrong.

"you are violating my rights damn it!"

Yes. If you bump the fat kid of the plane you are discriminating against obese people; if you bump a random, thin, passenger off the same plane you are not discriminating. I guess that they did their math.
