They Cut Their Children Into Pieces And Ate Them

What's possible if you allow your govt. ("authorities") to disarm the law abiding people. Don't argue with me !

Great Famine anniversary in Ukraine

By MARIA DANILOVA, Associated Press Writer

KRASYLIVKA, Ukraine - After authorities broke into Yakiv Atamanenko's home in autumn of 1932 and confiscated the family's food, his mother and two brothers died of starvation and their bloated bodies were tossed among others in a freshly dug grave on the outskirts of this farming village.
Atamanenko and other survivors here said one of their neighbors, Oleksandra Korytnyk and her husband, ate their two children. "They cut their children into pieces and ate them," recalled Atamanenko, now a frail, gray-haired 95-year-old.

Such a rediculous statement, their are psychos all over the world and just because the US has guns doesnt mean that these sort of things will never happen, and if you think that it will you live in the clouds with a bunch of fairies

Many "authorities" at that time need not "break into" homes.

Helpless / defenseless "occupants turn over your rations
or else !

"On Saturday, Ukraine marks the 75th anniversary of the terrible famine of 1932-33, engineered by Soviet authorities to force peasants across the former U.S.S.R. to give up their privately held plots of land and join collective farms. Millions perished.

Now President Viktor Yushchenko is leading an effort to gain international recognition of Holodomor — or death by hunger, as it is known here — as a crime rather than merely a disaster . . .]

Residents were prohibited to leave their homes — effectively condemning them to starvation

Silly me, here I thought the focus was on the whole eating children thing. You know, as opposed to baseless assumptions about other factors in a 75 years old scenario and pointless speculations as to what could've been done about it in order to further your own political agenda. Do you even know that they didn't have a gun?

I'm curious, what do you think Soviet would do if someone shot at them? 'Cause my guess would be that the person in question would be shot dead on the spot, and quite possibly the entire town would get to join shortly, the moment he reached for a weapon. Soviet was not exactly famous for being gentle, and somehow I doubt any amount of small arms could take on the Soviet army.

I agree. The people of Iraq were very well armed when Saddam Hussein was in power. A lot of good it did them. Modern armies would sweep aside resistance from the people with pistols and rifles.

Maybe the well armed Iraqis had no desire to be rid of Saddam contrary to what their liberator George says about it.
