The worst heavy metal songs

Yep. I love that band. October Rust is on my regular play list.

Bloody Kisses is pretty great start to finish. They were also a band that continued to put out great shit even as the years went on. Dead Again is fantastic. Too bad we lost Peter, he was as unique as they come. Part of me thinks he just faked his death and he's working for a sewage department somewhere.

You have a really heavy opinions.

In my view Christian heavy metal is not been played enough on the radio.

When Christians plug their guitars in and start to play Heavy Metal they put themselves in a suggestive state and are vulnerable to being grabbed by a demon. Christians should only listen to Country & Western music.

Christian music sucks because they're constantly trying to sell me on Jesus. I'm not buying it, and I never will. If you want to be a Christian and play in a band, that's fine. But don't make every song about your relationship with Christ. Would you buy my record if all I sang about was my relationship with my cat? Didn't think so.

Type O Negative were pretty good, Black Number 1, Love You To Death, etc. Nothing wrong with slow metal either, Pantera's Walk isn't fast but kicks arse and as a band they were heavier than any of their contemparies at the time! I can't listen to blindly fast metal all the time. To me variety is the spice of life, so I like my metal of all tempos, but its at its best when theres tempo changes during the song.

I'm pretty much with you there. But I do listen to a band called Maylene and the Sons Of Disaster, who are meant to be christian metal. But the lyrics (not the easiest to understand as its more in the screaming category) don't seem to be sprouting Jesus (at least not openly) and they are pretty aggressive and heavy too. I think they are one exception to the rule.

You do not like them and it's ok, but Christian heavy metal bands have an important message.

They are trying to say that good triumphs over evil if people make the right choices.

Tom Araya is a catholic. The only reason I bothered to correct you was because be made a point of correcting Sam Dunn when he asked him about it.

And that's bullshit Assari. Their only message is that you should believe what they believe and nothing else. We have different ideas about what's good and what's evil.

I've seen Tom asked about being a Catholic. He admits to practicing while having the expression of a purse snatcher on his face. He seems like a nice fella that just enjoys playing Metal.

^like I said, I only mention it because when asked about it, he made sure he corrected him. It's all bullshit to me, but like I said, I have no problem with religious people playing music, I just hate it when they play religious music.

Christianity and Metal combined just seem so weird. Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath invented the sound. Playing something that spawned from that with goody-two-shoes Bible lyrics doesn't seem to work.

If you want to play religious music than Country is better. Here is a nice Mormon song as an example. David Allan Coe is always good.

Religious metal does seem like a bit of an oxymoron. I don't usually listen to music that has a message of any kind, let alone a religious one. Most of the lyrics I hear are about vague mythological nonsense, which I love. It allows my imagination to paint it's own picture while I'm listening. Of course, that was a bit more interesting when I still smoked pot, but it's still my favorite stuff to listen to.
