Apparently this is the third one and I just found out. I thought maybe the scratches in the title were a 3. Anyway, I'm not sure if I like it or not, but I keep playing it.

It feels clunky in controls. For OCD people like me who are completionists, I have to stop every 2 feet to pluck and herb or flower so riding the horse is out. I basically run everywhere. Same with Breath of the Wild, I'd rather walk. Alchemey seems clunky, equipment is kinda fuzzy, and leveling up gives you a stinking point with a thousand options. What the hell do I pick? Quick attack, igni, heavy attack? The story has so many fantasy towns and names, its a little hard to keep track of, but, despite all that, I'm still at it.

Did you play it? Did you like it? No spoilers please! I'm barely level 5. It's worlds better than Monster Hunter World. That was awful.

I tried playing through the series but the first game's clunky controls killed it for me. It's supposedly improved in 3 but I haven't played it.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is IMO, one of the best games to play on this generation of consoles. CD Projekt Red created a masterpiece with this game and the 2 expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, are well worth the price for them.

What gives me even more hope is that these are the guys behind the cyberpunk game. I'm so hard for that.

A masterpiece and the best game I have played this generation. I was particularly impressed by the amount of effort that went into developing meaningful side quests. I played Witcher 3 after Fallout 4 so the phrase "another settlement needs your help" was still fresh in my mind. Amazing game and looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077.

Not really fair comparing CDPR with Bethesda. One is a masterful studio, and the other is Bethesda.

Would +1 you for bethesda truth, if I could.
Witcher 3 is a good game disguised as a 'hardcore' game. If you think that a game should be super difficult and not let you explore 50 feet passed the beaten path, you are in luck ~ there are games that suck all kinds of dick and want to punish you all day long, out there. Have you tried Mega Man or punching your nuts whilst you masturwank? Also recommended.

But yeah, witcher isnt bad. It just isnt easy and doesnt hold your hand. If you like grinding out levels and have a best friend, nearby... I would actually recommend Ark:Survival evolved or 7 days to die. Or minecraft if you dont have any cash. Witcher tries to tell a good narrative but ends up being too... grindy and time consuming to keep the narrative flowing consistently. If one doesnt start ... and bear with me, here... being an actual 'witcher', aka a badass mutant who takes down monsters and has a passive aggressive attitude towards everyone else and gets into constant fights and issues and really shouldnt have an income issue cuz they are an asshole.. but things need killin, so.. here ya go.. and 20 hours in you are level 4, and 50 hours in you are somehow level 20 and the game is WAAAYYYY easier...
Then yeah, you'll like it.
Harder mode? Go 'Dark Souls'.
Easy mode? Fallout 4 with survival mods. (slow water/hunger to .25%, turn up DOT and make stealth exploration a necessity)

Well, definitely getting hooked. It took time, but shit, I'm wasting a lot of time on this stupid game. Level 10 now. Fucking Bloody Baron sealed the deal. Good story.

I didn't care for Triss, and now I think she's alright. Honestly, Keria's the hottest right now. Been in Novigrad for a week fucking around, no joke. I actually have fucking crowns!

I am in love with this game.

Funny thing is that I liked Triss because I have Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on 360 and that was the relationship that was in that game. I went into Witcher 3 with the intent of choosing Triss and in the end, I chose Yennefer because of the history between her and Geralt and it felt right.

I went with Yennefer just for the roleplaying reason they have more romantic history together, and the events of the previous two games ended up being an unwanted deviation from it forced on both of them. While not as sweatheartish (the best way I can put it) as Triss her personally does fit Geralt's better. I have to think Geralt likes the relative crass and sarcastic demeanor Yennefer has at times. Plus as much as I like Triss, and as much as most sorceresses in the setting are at least somewhat manipulative and secretive if not greatly so, the one thing I have to hold against her is so willingly starting a relationship with Geralt without keeping in mind his previous one he had with Yennefer, especially since both Triss and Yennefer were close friends. Yes, both sorceressses and witchers seem to have free and unattached sex all the freaking time, but that also seems like a separate thing from serious relationships which they can also have. It might even very well be true that Triss thought Yennefer was dead or something happened to her so that she was permanently gone, but still wouldn't you think she should have at least mentioned her during that whole time she was with Geralt, or, even more, reveal anything else about his past he couldn't remember that she could have filled him in on which ended up being quite a bit?
