The Walking Dead on AMC

Interesting watching it the second time as you catch more.

I saw Hershel fire 9 rounds then reload; he is reloading when Laurie is freakng out on the porch about Carl being missing. Then I counted 10 rounds fired just before Herschel starts to reload and Rick kills the zombie behind him.

The trouble with both of these two sequences is that it could be easily misconcieved how much he is firing because it switches character perspectives. In the first sequence it swicthes to Laurie and you see Herschel firing in the foreground but you ask yourself or at least i did; was she seeing what you just saw or is this new circumstances. What I mean is, it could be that you see 5 shots with Herschel and then it switches to Laurie and it's showing what you saw from another character perspective. I don't really care, it's just not as bad as you several of you seemed to be talking abou that Herschel had unlimited ammo. LOL

I also counted a few other characters. When Rick jumps from the barn onto the RV he fires off 6 shots. I thought he had his 6 shooter but then you see he clearly has a 9MM. Don't know the name of the gun, I think it's a cop special and holds 9 rounds.

So...
Amazing finale. Anyone almost sick with anticipation for the next show....gotta wait until fall.

I guess we'll all have to satisfy our appetites with another show...Game of Thrones anyone?

I'm happy Rick basically told them all in the end to STF, it's my way or the highway. 'bout time! It ain't no democracy and it's pretty obvious to all that Rick has all of thier welfares at heart. They should stop being snotty shut the hell up and start acting accordingly.
Game Of Thrones is the Tits. Unfortunately, I don't have HBO, so I can't watch the new season. Got the 1st season on DVD though, and it's absolutely awesome. I'll just have to keep reading the books this summer. On "Talking Dead" the producers said that this is the birth of the "Rick-tatorship" :1orglaugh. They also went into some detail about Michonne. When I saw her show up, I was like "what...the...fuck...". I figured they wouldn't say a word about who she was all summer to keep the suspense nice and tight. I was actually kinda disapointed that they talked about her so much.

Michonne is in the comic and a fan favorite, that what I understand now. I'm a little bit hesitant about reading the comic though because 1. it may be a major spoiler to the series or 2. I might be dissapointed with what they do with the characters in the series as opposed to the comic. Now, one question, is the comic more action packed than the TV series? The series does seem very slow with the action but I don't really mind. I mean, I compare this series more to Breaking Bad than to the Resident Evil movies (which suck!!!).

There is a question floating around in my head, is the entire world infected? It's funny you don't really hear about the rest of the world being infected besides the Southeast United States or the United States in general. What if the world is quarentining the United States? It would be a cool concept, basically the world saying to America, you have meddled in our lives too much, take care of your own but to add more danger deal with a virus that reanimates the dead. I don't know it's just a thought.

I was a bit reluctant to read the comic, too, and had promised myself that I would stop reading the issue where the TV series had left off. Thing is, there really isn't too much of a line there. Shane dies a lot earlier, Dale dies a lot later, Merle, Daryl and T-Dog do not exist.
The comic is more action packed...but a comic is a completely different medium, so I don't find the comparison fair. One panel could represent several minutes of slow conversation (or could even represent years, for all that mater), but 12 panels could represent 2 seconds of action. The comic is a hell of a lot darker, but I actually like the show a lot better, as it has built the characters much better, as well as the suspense.

I think it is - if I recall right, Jennings (the guy who blew himself up that revealed to Rick they were all infected) also mentioned that the French were very close to a cure, before losing contact.
Oh yeah...Jennings also was not in the comic, nor was the Center ever even visited.

I forgot how Junior Soprano died, can you remind me?

We never saw Junior die. The way they left it, he'd been taken over by Alzheimer's and was in the process of just rotting away in that old folk's home. That was after Miles from Lost beat his ass for turning on him.

I'll watch the series finale of Walking Dead one more time Rey C buit I swear Hershel definately reloaded twice and maybe even more. I liked it that much ( the finale) ---- that I want to watch it again.

That's entirely possible.

Yeah, I noticed the gun switch too (from the Python wheel gun to the semi-auto). I assume that happened because they shot it in two or more takes or the way it was edited.

Firearms mistakes rankle me more than other stuff - just a pet peeve. But I don't mean to nitpick. That's what I hated about Lost: the fans on the big Lost forums would analyze every millisecond of every scene. I'm content to just watch this show for fun and entertainment. I stayed up and watched The Talking Dead and whoever this new character is, she's apparently going to play a big part next season... along with the prison they showed as the final scene ended.

rick always has his trusty python. the semi auto is shanes, its his glock. after rick killed him, he picked it up off the ground and carried it with him. also, carl had his, which rick more than likely took from him because hes a faster more accurate shooter

I've always hated Andrea, but I have to admit, the season finale totally changed my mind about her.
I found myself surprisingly wanting her to survive, and being damn glad when she did!

SO excited for Michonne!

now that she`s gonna be around the killing will go up alot and i know most of you are excited to see more zombie killins

I read a few pages of content at the The walking dead wiki that tells what happened in the comic, to the characters and the differences in the comic and Tv show. I never read the comic but if I had I'd be greatly dissapointed if they followed that complete storyline and never surprised us.

It does sound like the next season and maybe even further on depending on the series popularity that the main area of focus will be the prison.

I don't know why ---- but I've really put alot of interest in to this Michonne character and her walking boyfriends. Read a little about her character and it doesn't sound as if she's demented but having her dead boyfriend and his friend chained up behind her seems a little crazy. I'd have to assume that after cutting off thier arms and thier lower jaws that she cauderized the flesh so it wasn't dripping all over the place. That in itself is incredibly loopy.

That's the exact reason for why they write things differently for the show. Otherwise we would all know what would happen and interest would wane.
I'd rather have to deal with constantly hearing the comic fans go on and on about the differences than have us already know what will happen.

Exactly Moonchild, feel exactly the same.

Strange as it seems like some fans of the comic seem put off that they are not following the storyline. Maybe not here at Free ones but I checked a few other discussion boards and what I've seen from some of them leaves me to believe that. I don't know how the tv series could be enjoyable for them if they know exactly what going to happen next.

My guess is that due to them following the comics first, they feel, in a way, that it was theirs before it was everyone else's. In a way, it was. It's more special to them because of it. Knowing that the tv show is many people's first exposure to the Walking Dead probably bothers them because we're not taking in the same story that they know and love. So they feel the urge to let everyone know the differences.
The situation isn't very different from when a movie comes out based off a book you read (like every Stephen King book-turned-movie ever made). Mind you, if The Walking Dead was a movie instead of a long-running series, I'd expect it to be closer to the original source. Tv is different because you want the viewers to be surprised and keep them interested so they keep watching. Also, since the creator of the comics works on the tv show, instead of purely outsiders, it's even more ok to accept the changes.

Hershel looked like he was using God Mode in Doom. Unlimited ammo on a 5/6 shot mag tube shotgun, and then he puts in his Gameshark and activates the no recoil cheat

We actually saw Hershel reload twice. I was reading somewhere online saying with counting how many times he fired, he would have needed to reload three times total, which he might have done once off camera

Is there going to be more s-e-x in season 03???

I like the season ending. Clearly they couldn't stay on the farm forever. I honestly did think Carol and Andrea were going to die. I hope next season T-Dog has a bigger part. I would have beat Carl's ass for being out in the woods. That kid is an idiot. I am however glad he killed zombie Shane. That shows he has some balls. I like Hershel and hope he doesn't get killled. It was also nice to see Rick finally take a stand and say what he thinks. He is the reason most of them are still alive.

I thought it was so funny how everybody kept on screaming at Carl to stay in the house, and he was never in the house! That season finale was something else! T-Dog has done absolutely nothing and he is one of my favorite characters haha! I too hope he has a very much larger role in the next season. Hershel really grew on me and he was just mowing those walkers down. His whole "This is MY FARM!" reminded me of 300's "THIS. IS. SPARTA!"

Rick is just the man now. With his speech on how the group is no longer a democracy really sent chill down my spine. He's in charge and he makes the rules. I'm glad Glenn finally manned up and told Maggie that he loved her. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship pans out while at the prison.

I think out of all of the characters living now, Daryl is my favorite. Being an original character to the TV show, they really have fleshed his character out. I thought it was kinda cool with him on his bike driving through all of those walkers, and knowing Norman Reedus who plays his character used to work at a Harley Davidson shop.

i agree with u on Hershel, originally they were gonna kill him off but they liked him too much. n carl needs to stop leaving the group
