Hey
i am a huge fan of GNR. so what you guys think will they ever be together again? How many of you blame Axl for ruining down the band? I personaly believe he is responsible for the bands broke up. But he is the best leader in hard rock. Do you remember them play at Freddie mercury tribute concert? how awesome that was!

This will never happen. Axl and Slash cannot get along because of musical differences and more importantly, mainly personal issues that go back to when they were bandmates.

I have experienced the band live in Germany on their "Use Your Illusions" tour 1993. Some of the original members had gotten replaced, namely the drummer, if I remember correctly. He couldnt keep up with the new perspectives and overall musically. Was a great, great concert. To me, I would gladly listen to it again.

Regarding the band getting back together... Well, The Eagles once said, "when hell freezes over", and well, it happened. Maybe in ten years or so. Time does strange things.

Yeah read it somewhere else before
The last Axl's album chinese democrasy showed me his good with the ballads and i cleary see where estranged november rain dont cry songs come from. He is balad tune writing guy. I dont like any fast song from the last gnr "tribute band" album. So in original gnr it seems axl was responseble for ballads and nice tunes and other guys were bringing power and energy with their music. I dont like what Slash does now. he has some nice songs but nothing great, and that singer annoys me!

They only released one good album IMO. Appetite For Destruction.

how come use your illusion is not on your list? you could be mind, estranged (and the great music video for this song) november rain, live and let die...

My crazy uncle in his GnR tribute band:

Oh wait.
ah your extreamly right about calling it trebute band

god you are so lucky to have visited thier show. the show of the legend band that may never going to be happened again....
i was it axl's band show couple years ago. i liked it. Although it is kind starge to hear the sound like that these day. i mean we used to hear lots of low frequensis at rock concerts, kick drum pulling fast your heart beat. GNR still work with the old school sound with not much of bass

I think I REALLY was lucky, because they still had the raw energy and just had begun to cross over into deeper waters.

The new drummer came from "The Cult", because the old one, Steven Adler , would not kick his drug habits. And they added Dizzy Reed for Keyboards. Makes sense, because what would "November Rain" sound like without a permanent man for the intro etc.

The band even made a short break and did a set just playing acoustic in the front center of the stage. Lateron, Axl threw his mike straightforward into the people in front of the stage, and the next day, there was a news story about a young guy being hit in the face from it, Axl signed it for him and he got to keep it. Now THAT is a souvenir ;)

Duff and Slash talk a lot in the books about the new guys in the band. they say nothing wrong about Matt. They all are messed up about Axl hiring two back vocal singer, 3 girls on horns + dizzy on keyboard and some other guy on other keyboards and harmonica. Too damn big! I love live at Ritz 88 show where they sound just awesome. and i don't like how they sound on use your illusion 92 or 91 tokio dvd.

My husband told me Axl throughs away his mic every show and those are not the mics he uses for entire show. he takes low cost mic on the last minute of paradise city , sings couple words with it and throughs it away to audience. these words from my husband: "Axl now sings in sure UHF-R mics and throws away sure ULX cheap mics"

Slash has made good music away from GNR. I actually liked Velvet Revolver better than any GNR music excluding Appetite

The reunion is coming soon.
Axl and Duff already play together a lot now on various shows as well as Izzy and Adler.
The only 2 that don't get along are Axl and Slash and once everybody gets sick of Slash and his awful solo shit, the money will come in buckets and they WILL reunite.

Its only a matter of time..............and money!

i dont know about the money. Slash told in many interviews they got many offers with millions $ on checks to play a show in classic line up. It didnt work for them

Civil Wars and Estranged from Use Your Illusion II are two of the most underrated songs from the GnR catalog.

I have to admit Axl was pretty talented at his peek, had a shockingly large range for pure vocal ability,...and is a complete jerk. I can see why people didn't and still don't like him.

Between the two Slash was the more creatively talented one though in my opinion, not to mention when you hear him speak Slash actually sounds very well spoken. If one goes by the music they have made since GnR broke up it's no contest who's come out better.
