Nah. New Jersey just looks stinky, not so much the smell. NY on the other hand.... :eeew:

It was raining here a lot the past two weeks and when I went to the grocery store the other day, a woman was saying to the cashier, "I like the rain. It cleans the city. It makes NY less stinky.".

Isn't that a line from Taxi Driver?

One day - possibly tomorrow - I'm going to read this whole thread.....

Ha all 36 pages? Sounds like a bit of a long read.

Challenge accepted. ;)

...and challenge fulfilled. . I even have some new wallpapers to prove it.. ;)

Next stop...Harley's journal
All I have to say is this: I have a new favorite. ;)

A question for you Harley: You said you smoked....what's your brand, and how much are they up there?

Well, her brand came up in the Pornstars without Makeup thread when someone noticed her pack in one of the pics she posted and decided to cranky about smoking. Also of note, m12 gets verbally abused by several people later in that thread, so it has something for everyone! :D

I'm not gonna ask any girls or anyone else where they get their costumes. I know for a fact that I can find stuff cheaper my own way. I've bought full sets of lingerie for less than $5.00 before. That's how awesome I am at getting cheap stuff that still looks great.

I used to smoke Pall Malls, and I miss them, but as of the past few months it's been Marlboros. Unfortunately the stores around me don't have Pall Malls. These Marlboros are harsher and burn too quickly. When I first started smoking, I tried a whole bunch of brands and flavors, like Camel Crush, Marlboro Reds, Newport, some sort of Camel fusion that tasted like raspberry (they were terrible), Marlboro Lights, etc. When I first started smoking Pall Malls, I hated them, but I kept getting them because they were cheaper, and then became my favorite.

I really do need to quit though. Terrible habit.

I read that thread, it was very entertaining. I didn't notice the pack at first...it's the wrong brand.

I thought I was the only one who thought they burn too quickly; at least the Marlboro Reds do. I've been smoking them since I started.......

I want to quit also; I have Allen Carr's book, but I haven't read it yet. (Life happened.) I thought I'd lost it, but I didn't. I'm going to start reading it, but as per the recommendation of virtually everyone I've talked to about it, I need to get some more cigarettes first.

I'm going to read the book and quit if it kills me....

I know, everyone raves about that book, so I have pretty high expectations for it. And I thought I lost it too! When cleaning. But I found it. What a coincidence! And same here, life happened. I feel like I'm making excuse after excuse not to quit at any given time.

First my excuse was that I'd quit after getting my teeth removed, but then someone told me that I should do it before I get them extracted since you're supposed to smoke while reading. But then I started smoking as soon as I could after going days without one.

Then my excuse was that I didn't want to take the time to quit because I had too much work to catch up that I didn't have time to sit and read and quit smoking.

And now my excuse is that my guy is coming back in a week from CA, we've got plans to see the fireworks, then we're going to Virginia for a week for vacation, and I don't want to be all grumpy and moody and miserable while he's around. I'd rather be grumpy and miserable alone, as I know I'd probably make him annoyed with me if I were all snappy around him and whatnot.

Ugh. Stupid excuses. That's all it is.

Excuses, you say?

1. I've been smoking since I was 17.... I'm 42 now.
2. I've got some pretty major dental work coming up, and I'll no doubt not be able to smoke while things heal.......but I probably will anyway.
3. I've been out of work for awhile... too long, in fact (I had a medical issue that kept me out of life for a time).
4. I'm in a house full of smokers.
5. My parents smoke, my sister smokes - and has quit several times; my nephew smokes.

There's more, but I'm on a public forum.....

You've said he's a good guy, so I'm pretty sure he'd accept a little grumpiness if it eventually leads to you being healthier (and him too, what with secondhand and all).

I'm watching some specialist videos
Just a quick line on the quitting smoking. If you do read the book and follow the instructions, there is no crankyness. The way the book seems to work (for me, anyway) is to change the way that you feel about not smoking, so that it is not a chore. So that when you get the feeling deep inside that you want a smoke, you change that feeling to one of relief that you no longer have to.
