Since we have an OCSM that does it, well, we'll start with this. :D

I do! :D

Currently have some yellow squash, zucchini, basil, oregano, cantaloupe, and watermelon. Tried to start some peppers from seeds, but they didn't take. Will be buying those plants, I guess, along with whatever flowers I decide to do this year. (Marigolds will definitely be one of them.)

Of course, I'm training that ivy. Want to have it growing up the fence outside my bedroom.

What's in your garden? :)

And the reply to Jinxy's post:

awesome.

let me think.. carrot, beets, zuchinni, yellow squash, tomato, corn, chives, cilantro, bell peppers, cabbage, scallion, cayanne peppers, radishes, watermelon, strawberries, peas, green beans, im sure some other stuff.

peppers take a long time to germinate, we did everything from seed except the strawberries. most of it we germinated indoors between wet paper towels. works pretty good.

i want some star jasmine though..

And my contribution!

I have a bed of strawberries, a dutch variety that are sooo sweet. Then I have yellow zuchinni and green (though the green doesn't look happy), butter squash and pumpkin.

I also decided to give tomatoes one last go this year, but I'm hanging them and I also am giving potatoes a go.

My herbs include catnip (which looks like stinging nettles so EVERYONE avoids the huge catnip bush...except the cats), a few varieties of mint (I found an apple mint), sage, tarragon, rosemary, lavandar, and anise.

For flowers, I just scattered seeds plus I had lots of wild violets and forgetmenots coming in. I also have several begonias, morning glories, ice flowers, and hortensia.

oh sweet! gardening!

i had potatoes once, i should have done them this year.. maybe its not too late?

catnip is a good idea. i should get that in the ground asap.

we harvested a treat today. the small one was not ready, it was spicy as hell, the big one was so mild and crunchy.

i looked up whether you could eat the greens and they were safe so i gave it a whirl. they were good! ate em raw. im realizing now how much of the vegetable we throw away!

All I have is a small tomato patch. I used to have a small patch of cherry-tomatoes & grape-tomatoes. I just love those. I would eat them like candy!

Nettles, holly bushes, several variants of cactus, prickley pears, Clover (Oxalis) & Bermuda grass (to infect the garden of my enemies, as it's nearly impossible to get rid of these two once established in a garden . .
. . bwaa ha ha!), Poison Oak & Ivy, Castor bean plants for ricin extract and ''death cap'' mushrooms... my favorite! :lovecoupl

But seriously, ''Early Girl'' Tomatoes which extended as high as 9' on a trellis last year!
Beautiful handball sized fruit! Also, Fushias and several palm trees, both indoor & out.... one indoor palm of mine is 9' tall & ^.

ive seen the early girl varieties recently. are they a good plant? are they heat tolerant?

im growing a couple beefsteaks right now, have some flowers are this point.

i really cant wait for a good tomato.

I contemplated growing some jalapenos this year.

Did you ever get a new gnome Petra? He might need to stand guard over your garden to keep things from messing with it.

We have a bird feeder hanging in a tree in our backyard, with some pots with plants underneath them. After a few months, I saw carrots growing in the flower pots.

Pulled them out, put them in the garden in a corner, and thats when I started growing carrots.

Didn't last long though... Dont have green fingers.

The room my friend rents off me with the hundreds of UV lights in it seems to have something growing in it. Not sure what though...

No. Though we do have new lawn chairs in case anyone who was overtly concerned about the ones we had are interested. o_O

I'd love to grow jalapenos since the closest thing I can get is in jars...but it just doesn't get warm enough. I think that's why I've had trouble with tomatoes the past 2 years, just not enough heat/sun without a greenhouse.

EG's have been a favorite hybrid of mine for years now, that is, ever since I learned not to buy my start up plants from Home Depot or from out in front of say . . the Rite Aid Pharmacy. Really, buying good quality plants makes all of the difference in the world, I would always end up with diseased/distressed plants before I discovered a nursery in my area that's owned and operated by a Japanese family  . . only the best for these guys! Sure, 4 - 6'' plants cost me $12.00, but I have peace of mind that they'll grow like something fierce!

As far as heat resistance goes, we get about 30-40-50 days of the summer here when it tops 90ºƒ and I've never had any foliage burn up on my plants, that is, the ones bought from the nursery. . . just water them as prescribed and never let 'em go dry. ;)

X-lint! Hey, I once remember a gardener telling me a ''secret'' and it goes like this . . . After seeing the first blossoms, it's helpful to shake your tomato plants before the sun rises . . . I guess that's the best time for all of the ''plant sex'' to take place (pollination . . whatever :dunno:)

Me neither, I'm just dyin to finally be able to invite Ashleigh over for a decent BLT luncheon! :yummie:

The nice gentlemen, who come over every once in a while said they'd take care of it. So I really don't know. They did give me a nice watch the other week though - I don't really ever wear watches, but it was nice of them anyway.

Oh he's not my room-mate, he's just some guy I met in a bar a while ago. I mentioned in passing I had a spare room and he asked if he could rent it from me (for a price far exceeding the rooms worth, to be honest) and I of course, said yes. I haven't actually seen the rooms interior for about two years now, due to the huge lock he currently has on it. So I couldn't tell you how they overcome those sorts of problems.

Funny story, last time I wandered into the room some guy I'd never seen before held a knife to my throat. :1orglaugh My friend explained to me later on that that guys friend had just been shot and killed and he was really stressed at the time. Which I can accept - but yeah, that's the only I know they even have plants in there. As with the white glow that surrounds the door frame at night.

A friend told me this site was a great starter for *ahem* indoor gardening.

I am just about to start planting my herb garden. It's all catnip of course, but many stunning varieties. My lawn looks like a feline Woodstock most days:D

You're really going to have to do something about that gnome embargo they have going on over there for some reason since they seem not to be available.

As far as jalapenos they always seemed to be hardier than I thought when they were grown in the past. Maybe it was just luck. Tomatoes are still doable to but Michigan sucks for planting lots of garden foods and it makes it even more irritating than it has to be. I would dread trying to always guess when the chance of frost finally passed. At least our summers are warmer than a lot of people think.

Gardening is one of mt passions - my roommate hates me because I left for Europe on Saturday leaving him to water the newly planted garden - with the threat that if anything dies, so does he ;-)

In the greenhouse I have tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and melons. In the lower garden I put in zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, and Thai Basel. I planted the upper garden 100% in corn this year - we'll see how it does but it was doing well when I left. I also have a small section for perennial herbs (sage, chives, oregano) ans I put giant sunflowers in the corners along the steps.

The strawberries in the front yard were in full bloom when I left for Germany and should be ready to enjoy when I get home. I lost 4 roses to a dry cold winter and probably won't be back in time to put replacements in before it's too hot - roses are a pain but I love them so I'll always have a few.

I planted 5 new trees (Cologreen Junipers) behind the tipi that should someday provide a bit of privacy without getting too big.

Here's an old pic of the upper garden - I'll post a few new ones when I get home.
