People are overestimating Jennas popularity. The next Jenna? Someone who was a huge star in porn and then made some shitty mainstream B movies? Is the bar really that high? I'd say Sasha Grey has a more successful mainstream career then Jenna. Better looking too.
Someone will far surpass Jennas popularity as porn itself becomes more mainstream. Each day a star crosses over with some pictures with an actor/rapper/athlete. It's only a matter of time until the taboo lines are gone completely. But that time isnt now and none of those girls in the list will be the one to jumpstart the mainstream porn revolution.

Sure, there were other women starring in films and whatnot, but the thing is, almost everyone who has ever looked at porn has heard of Jenna Jameson, be it just hearing her name in passing, seeing some of her work, whatever. That's the difference. I've never heard of Danni or Jill, and I doubt most other people have, but I'll be damned if I come across someone who hasn't heard of Jenna.

She won't be 'like Jenna,'
but someone will come along who runs the tables, is known by all, and impacts the entire adult industry in a similar way.
Jenna managed not only to make an impact, but she also adapted with the changes in the industry, which i think is the really hard thing to do... keep learning the new rule books and still find a way to stay ahead of the competition.
of course from the purveyor, the competition is a great one to watch!
so i don't know who to choose... i haven't heard of all of these girls. it has to be someone with broad based appeal, careful not to just jump into the adult world completely, but to ease in... or maybe not... maybe that will be what's new, storming the industry XXX from day one... idoubt it, but a guy can hope... then again, if it was the fans hoping it would be someone who comes up through lots of direct interaction with the fans a la Mandy, Miss Hybrid, Harley, and Jaayna...
Guys just picture it... a Miss FreeOnes... someone you helped put on the pedestal, becoming the 'next houshold name in porn.'

If I ask everyone I know "do you know who Sasha Grey is?" the only ones who do are the ones who actually regularly watch porn. I ask them "do you know who Jenna Jameson is?" they all do. My mother knows who Jenna Jameson is, for Christ's sake. I don't know if popularity is the right word, but for people the world over knowing your name and what you do/did, there is only one Jenna.
For my money there will never be a 'household name' in porn again. For every fan like we board members who know the names of who is in the porn and have our favourites, there are hundreds who just turn on their tube site and fap to whatever title sounds good, "5 girl lesbian gangbang" or whatever. Certainly none will ever again achieve the notoriety of people knowing who she is even beyond actual porn fans. Jenna was right girl, right time, right place, and the circumstances will never be duplicated again.
P.S. as an aside, I think it's staggering to remember that Jenna achieved her level of success without doing anal or practically anything beyond the vanilla. These days as soon as anybody gets ANY level of notoriety they're queuing up to form lines of "when this bitch doing IR/anal/DP/gangbang" and so on. Just makes you realize the difference in times. In Jenna's day blonde hair, a big ass, huge big cans, fucking with energy and a "take no bullshit" attitude were all the right ingredients to become massive. It wouldn't be enough these days. It's all about the variety of sex acts taking place these days, with Jenna it was just that people loved watching her suck and fuck.

I don't think it's a minority at all. A minority when you're only considering the people who regularly watch porn, but not a minority in the entire world.
She might have been overrated, but Janna is far from the most overrated ever. At least she was decent at what she did, and for most people that didn't like her or thought she was overrate it was still easy for most to see why at least other people would like her. Compare that to somebody like Lisa Ann now, for example, where it boggles the mind why she is as popular as she is. Still, I agree that Jenna was overrated.
In a way being overrated is irrelevant to the subject at hand. It isn't so much about where they are in the best pornstar ever list as much as how widely they were recognized and well known for whatever reason that came about.

Danni Ashe was the most downloaded woman at one point. Shes the only person to appear on the cover of the Wall Street Journal and Juggs. She was beyond porn. Her fame certainly wasn't limited to the industry.
I'd also like to add, with social media as integrated as it is now, there are already so many girls who are close to that success. Its an inevitability that someone crosses all the bounderies and becomes twice the superstar that Jenna was.

I'd probably have trouble naming more than half a dozen people from mainstream porn. Most people just aren't that concerned with it, and even when folks do make waves outside of the industry it's more like ripples in the water, not a tsunami. It's a "there then gone" thing. Honestly, consider for a minute; how many people have appeared on the cover of the Wall Street Journal that you could trip over and not recognize them? Probably a lot.
