If someone is banned they have broken board rules and the mods have removed them from the board. If someone has closed their account then they have done so of their own choice.

I have sputnikgirl's, but she said why she was closing her account before she left. She was working at a center for at-risk kids, but she was looking for another job and she was afraid that someone looking for references would stumble upon her Freeones account and would dismiss her as a sexual degenerate or something. Kind of the same reason as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named-Who-Used-To-Go-By-The-Screen-Name-Fox-Elipse-Us.
