The Man in the High Castle

Been watching this on Amazon prime. Based on the novel by Philip K. Dick and produced by Ridley Scott, both of Blade Runner fame, it's another dystopian setting but in an alternate history 1962 in a world where **** Germany and Imperial Japan won WWII and partitioned the United States between the Greater **** Reich in the east and the Japanese Pacific States in the west with the Netural Zone over the Rockies.

As an American, it's a disturbing scenario fleshed out on screen and some of the visuals are jarring like an SS officer in full swastika regalia having just a normal everyday breakfast with his ****** in a Long Island suburb complete with the ****** dog. Or Americans on the west coast bowing to their Japanese superiors. It gets my ***** boiling in a Wolverines! sorta way. But Red Dawn this is not. It's way more subtle and even plodding at times but still definitely a compelling watch and with an element of Lost thrown in. But unlike Lost, there's the source material to rely on so hopefully they won't be making stuff up as they go along and end up with a jumbled mess.

Season 2 arrives in December.

a solid
