Let's just take your first attempt at a point: There are U.S. liberals buried in military cemeteries not just at home but all over the world. Men who died fighting for the country they loved. Disagreeing with conservatives on many points of policy didn't make them (nor does it make today's liberals) any less patriotic than their political rivals.

The ratio of conservative:liberal in the U.S. military is probably overwhelmingly more conservative. And there is no real way to tell anyway. The politics of a service member is not widely discussed at least openly.

Certainly liberals have died in the service of their country. But how do we know they were liberal? It's not on their headstone.

I think you're overlooking the fact that until 1973 we had the draft - an equal opportunity 'employer' that didn't discriminate between liberals and conservatives. So yes we can know with assurance that a tremendous number of our honored dead were liberals.
