Some guy made a trip to the mojave desert in search of the Joshua tree that adorns the U2 album of the same name.
Sadly the tree has long since fallen (probably as far back as #2000).
It may seem a pointless trip, just to see a tree, but I guess it was/is an icon of the album and for the band.
I know it was only a tree, but kind of sad anyway.
