The ignorant, liberal environmentalists must be hating Obama now!

I hope that you are using a hand crank to generate power for your computer when you made this post instead of sapping up electricity you goddamn consumer! Or are you Dr. Manhattan now?
I recognize my environmental impact. That's why I call for responsible advancement of newer engineering solutions -- instead of standing in their way. If you consume, then you must be responsible enough to either providing solutions or get the fuck out of their way.

Although I'd hardly argue my and my wife's 30-50W notebooks (we don't use desktops) suck up as much as a desktop, let alone doesn't compete with the impact of my regular air travel.

And I'm still await an answer to my long-standing question. It's much easier to bitch about the solutions being used rather than attempting to provide a better solution. They bitch about what engineers come up with, but can't offer anything better.

And most of the time they don't realize many of the alternatives are not always "clean" themselves, and have other impacts on the environment. That one always drives me up-the-wall.

Yeah, and he should know that bold print uses THREE TIMES as much energy, too!

I'd love to see a "debate" between Prof V and Dave Lochbaum. I know where the insults and the volume would come from, but the facts and the science would come from Mr. Lochbaum. (although, when things are so lop-sided, it's hardly fair and not really a debate; I think it'd be more of just an embarrassment to Prof V)

I hope you were honestly joking.

Are you sure you understand him correctly? Or are you reaching again? The man has presented excellent information. But I don't think you understand either mine or his stances. We need to upgrade our aging, nuclear infrastructure.

It's like we're driving Model T cards while the French are already, and eight (8) other countries are moving towards, driving modern cards. Are you going to argue that we should just stick with the Model T? Or just get rid of cars altogether? Cars are dangerous. But unlike mass transit, they can take you almost anywhere. ;)

Furthermore, he is from Tennessee. Again, Tennessee is much worst than your "Georgia" example. Oak Ridge for instance. The problem is that you can't remotely understand what you read, and the context it is presented in.
