Police mugshots are notoriously unflattering with very few of those detained managing even a smile.

But hairdresser Kaylin Ransom made sure she always looked her best for her photos by undergoing a mini makeover each time she appeared before the camera.

Under a plea deal worked out with prosecutors the 22-year old was allowed to continue working at a hair salon in Florida provided she spent the weekends locked up in jail.

Ransom pleaded no contest earlier this year to felony battery and ***** ***** after she attacked someone with a baseball bat and threw her **** out of the car


It meant the single mum had to pose for a police booking photo each weekend when she turned up at the Lake County jail in Tavares,Florida.

Ransom made sure she always looked her best her appointment with the jail photographer.

Her make-up was freshly applied, nails were newly polished and she also sported a variety of hairstyles.

In the 28 mug shots logged since May, Ransom can be seen in a dizzying and ever-changing array of hairstyles.

Thanks to a dizzying array of hairstyles, makeup and poses, the single mum looks utterly different from photo to photo


Ransom had pleaded no contest earlier this year to felony battery and ***** *****.

She allegedly attacked a woman with a baseball bat and threw her ******** out of a car.

Ransom was sentenced to 90 days in jail, of which she has now served 56.

Rather than send her to jail prosecutors agreed to the deal that would allow her to keep her job in Ocala, Florida.

The only thing that stayed the same from mugshot to mugshot was Ransom's unique neck tattoo


Ransom said she found it hard to go to prison for weekends but was happy with the plea deal.

'Mentally, it ***** you because you have to turn yourself in,' she said.

'In those two days, you probably think about more than someone who's been confined for years.'

Ransom says she spends her time behind bars thinking 'about how to better myself as a ****** and ******.'
