Frankie

California
Cave
Turmoil

Bob Ball and Frankie Ray are playing the two soldiers who discover the cave in California where the VegeMonsters breed and prepare for taking over the world.
It all ends in a great Turmoil when even some indians appear to make some cowboy/indian jokes come off, the movie is rather a C than a B Movie

Just to confirm you are correct,a great little film from Ray Milland with even Frankie Avalon giving a decent performance.

This is probably wrong but let me guess "Silver Streak"

Sorry I jumped the gun. Wasn't sure when I'd be able to get back on here!
