the dark knight

due to unforunate circumstances i have been unable to see The Darknight but hopefully i will be able to see it this weekend. If you have already seen it please give me your review. Thanks

I know that someone's gonna give me **** about this, but I think it was overrated. It was a good movie, but I definitely don't think it was all it was hyped up to be as the greatest movie ever made. It had a good plot, and had great action, but some things were just too implausible for me to believe. It was mostly a good social commentary.

I'm inclined to agree in a way....while it was fucking awesome, it had its flaws like every movie. It did kind of thrust everybody into the action without explaining who and what everybody's been doing since the first movie. Even though you could see it without watching Begins and Gotham Knight, it would have helped to have some kind of recap for the newer audience

This is coming from a big Batman fan too. The week it came out I didn't rush to see it like my friends and co-workers did, and they dashed up to ask me if I had seen it yet, hyping up the movie more than the trailers ever did. I was so ecstatic when I finally saw it, and I came away feeling it was a badass movie, but not "THE GREATEST MOVIE EVUURR OMG" like my friends were talking...

THANK YOU!!!! Somebody actually agrees with me. I'm not a big fan of comic book movies, but I did like this movie. It is defiantly a good movie, but if you have the urge to see it 5 times, then you have way too much free time. I think Heath's performance sold the movie.

I agree it was a tad over-hyped but, with Ledger's passing and the strength of his performance, that was bound to happen. It is without a doubt HIS movie, and also one of the few movies in which I sympathised more with the villian than with any of the good guys (What that says about me - who knows?:)). The scenes at the hospital were hilarious.

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't go into it expecting to see the greatest movie ever made, go see it for what it is - an intelligent, thought-provoking, well-made action movie.

Even "The Godfather" has its problems, i.e. it has a too-episodic structure and sacrifices narrative drive for character development. Every movie ever made has problems.

The Dark Knight has a frankly unbelievable, given the actress choice, unrequited love story at its center. No way someone like Bruce Wayne walks into a party with those chicks on his shoulder, but is willing to wait for Gyllenhaal's Rachel Dawes. Maybe Holmes'. Additionally, the implication that we'll accept only totally pure heroes simply cannot be true if our psyches can accept our own faults.

If only we had six threads about this already...

Wow, I thought I was the only one...saw it yesterday and came out wondering what everyone was jumping up and down about. It was a good movie, but nothing to write home about. I'll even go a step further and say I liked the first one better.

the best batman movie ever made

Aye. But that still doesnt change the fact that it is SIMPLY A SUMMER ACTION MOVIE! Watch it, talk about it with friends, FORGET ABOUT IT!

Maybe rent it again when it comes out on BluRay to see the high def and behind the scenes crap with Ledger.

Sorry, but I totally disagree. To simply call this a "summer action movie" is like calling Micheal Jordan a really good basketball player.

This was way more than just your typical summer fare.I'm not saying that it was the best movie I've ever seen (I reserve that title for Fight Club),but it is without a doubt the best movie that's based off of a comic book.

definetely one of the best action hero movie of all time IMO. Too bad It doesnt look like it will pass titanic. Dont know how Titanic did so good?

Batman Begins is still better---all things considered. The only flaw with TDK is the climactic final battle scene. It went a little "too far" in terms of Batman's abilities. He basically kicks everybody's ass when we, the audience, couldn't figure out "who was who" basically. I also think Maggie Gylenhall (a fine actor) was terribly miscast in the film.

Best movie of summer...without a doubt and worthy of all the money and praise...

The more times I watch Batman Begins, the more that I notice the writing flaws.Don't get me wrong,I love the movie, but a lot of the dialogue is veryrepetitive. They use about 5 or 6 separate lines multiple times. So in all,I thought that they fixed some of the stuff that that didn't go well in the first movie.Another is the fight scenes.Everyone that I know who saw this movie,if they have only one complaint,it's that the fight scenes were shot too close, and I think that they did a really good job in fixing that in this film.So I will disagree that the first movie was better. This one was a little more complex and technically speaking, just a superior film.

As for Maggie,I didn't like her nor Katie Holmes. The only thing that I can figure is that the creative team didn't want to have the leading lady in any way upstage the other characters,so they got one actress that's not that bad looking, but not that great of an actress either, and the other who can act very well but really isn't anything to look at.

I liked Batman Begins better. Better pacing, better narrative, better mood. The only thing I liked about Dark Knight was the Joker, everything else felt like a confused mess.

I don't understand this analogy. What else would you call him?

Titanic also had boobs in it. As much as guys like Batman, I think they like boobs better.

I know that's why I saw it. James Cameron is a genuis. boring historical account = no one wants to see it. love story with a naked chick = guys will want to see it and bring dates because they know they will be getting laid afterwards. viola! best selling movie of all time.

I,along with everyone else would call him the greatest to ever play the game. The Dark Knight is the greatest comic movie ever make just like Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever.
