The Conservative, Republican, TEA Party Love Of Scandals

So I'm sitting here waiting. After all the crying over Benghazi, IRS overreach, Fast and Furious, Obamas favorite flavor of Jello Pudding and how it's not Presidential enough. I'm sitting here looking at a bonafide Obama administration scandal. And I'm serious. This isn't some pump fake, reverse psychology, Mayhem's trying to be clever pseudo-maneuver. I'm looking at a scandal that the Conservative element, back when I was a proud member of it, would have been jumping up and down with little flecks of spit bursting from our mouths. Back when my Republican Party wasn't populated by hysterical morons (well....kinda), this was the kind of thing we made sure we had an unobstructed path to the Batcave for.

And I'm sitting here, in a deafening fuckin' silence.

So c'mon geniuses. Name That Scandal! Tell me, what is it that you would be pissed about if your weren't so slavishly devoted and distracted by the idiots that you elected?

What did you expect from the party of no.

The GOP needs more moderate voices, instead of the TEA Party radicals if they want any chance winning another election for Prez.

Harvesting emails, and calling patterns without warrants by the NSA rather bothered me. Virtually every politician on both sides said it was in the name of security, so let's just ignore the fact it violates the constitution.

Let's go guys. What scandal am I referring too? It's right there in the news.

Is nothing worthy of note until Sean Hannity says it is?

I'm guessing either the debacle with the Phoenix VA office (though I don't know if I can really say that's on the Democrats' heads) or the publication of Stress Test.

The only way a real scandal will get any legs is if the morons you mentioned above leave it alone and let the "mainstream media" break the story. Otherwise no one is going to take it seriously, not even the Kool Aid drinkers, that's pretty fucked up when even the GOP base have heard them cry wolf so many times they don't even believe them anymore.

The whole thing is about public opinion to win elections.

The Benghazi inquest #4 is really about putting the blame on Hillary Clinton for the most likely Democrats person in 2016, so they have attack ads material.

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said President Barack Obama is "madder than hell" about possible deadly healthcare delays at the Department of Veterans Affairs and is determined to investigate and fix any flaws in the system.

"We're going to get to the bottom of those things, fix them and ensure that they don't happen again," McDonough said on CBS's "Face the Nation" in an interview aired on Sunday.

The allegations that delays in treatment at veterans hospitals could have led to otherwise preventable deaths has sparked a growing political scandal, including calls for the resignation of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.

A top department official, Undersecretary of Health Dr. Robert Petzel, resigned on Friday in a move critics said was an effort at damage control. But McDonough sidestepped questions about whether Shinseki had Obama's full confidence.

"The president will continue to demand that he and all of us who work for him continue to fix these things until they are functioning the way that our veterans believe they should," McDonough said.

Petzel's resignation came a day after he appeared alongside Shinseki at a congressional hearing about accusations that VA medical facilities in Phoenix covered up long wait times for patients, including 40 who died while awaiting care.

Dr. Sam Foote, a whistleblower in the VA case, said on "Fox News Sunday" that Petzel's resignation was "a great first step". He said there was no way officials in Washington did not know of the issue.

"They knew this was a big problem," he said, adding he believed Shinseki should stay in his job to keep the focus on fixing the problem.

"I think our best bet at this point is to keep the secretary on board. But I think the president needs to keep him on a pretty short leash," Foote said.

The VA has put three senior officials in Phoenix on administrative leave after doctors there said they were ordered to hold veterans' names for months on a secret waiting list until a spot opened up on an official list that met the agency's two-week waiting time goals.

Allegations have been reported about similar cover-up schemes at VA medical facilities in at least seven other cities. The agency runs the largest U.S. healthcare group, overseeing some 1,700 hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other facilities.

This isn't necessarily a Democrat thing, but It's a White House thing, an Executive Branch thing. It's not an impeachment thing but it's a "get up in someone's face" thing.

The point I'm making with this thread is that this, right here is exactly what I want hearings and special prosecutors for. Not even to get anyone in trouble. But to define the problem, figure out the problem and fix the fuckin' problem. And don't ever, EVER fuckin' do it again. This is what the Congress of my United States of America should be doing with their powers. Not farting around again with Benghazi. This is what both sides of Congress of my United States of America is supposed to be getting pissed about (or at least show some concern for the campaign season).

(It really wasn't my original intention to get partisan with this thread but the thought occurs to me, according to the article, there is in fact one guy who is the brand of "madder than hell" about this issue that I expect him to be. Hmmm, who was it again?)

Riddle me this Batman: What the hell happened to "Support The Troops"? Where are the fuckin' ribbons and impossibly large flags flying from a pickups? Can someone tell me where standing for our brave men and women got misplaced too? I'd like to dust it off and see what it's looking like nowadays..

Y'know what it's looking like? Too damn expensive. They discovered that an endless succession of Americans getting blown up costs money. Now nobody wants to fuckin' talk about it. And seriously, when was the last time someone pumped their fist and bellowed in a manly way, "Support Our Troops" right there in front of you? For me it tapered off somewhere during the aforementioned epiphany.

So fuck you and your entire family tree. (I'm absolutely NOT directing that to this board or any individual. This is me, barking at the moon. Thank you for your understanding.) But seriously, fuck you.

I/We have a Congress that is absolutely useless when it comes to spotting the important stuff. And it's pretty damn irritating.

I wasn't trying to imply that it was a purely Democratic debacle, but I have a feeling that more and more of the left will be either dragged into this mess, either to bleat about how things need to change, people should be punished, etc., or because somebody besides Shinseki dropped the ball and will be put on display. Of course the right will participate too, and rightfully so, this is an issue that transcends partisan politics and needs to be addressed posthaste (alongside other issues and bills that Congress is dillydallying about, but that's unrelated). The three responsible parties say they did nothing wrong, that they did their jobs accordingly. If that was indeed the case, there wouldn't be a scandal about 40 veterans who died while awaiting care.

Its an everybody on capitol hill thing.
The V.A. is a joke and has been for decades then you add the veterans from two more fronts into this mess it just exposes that mess to a greater degree.
Pouring billions into the farce that is 'Homeland Security' and can't find the funding to modernize the V.A.'s system of operation????
WE ARE TRULY LOST........
