Tevez set to seal Man City switch

The Boss might have missed on maximizing Adebayor profit though. We should've gotten rid of Adebayor last year:mad:

As a Goon, I wouldn't mind seeing Adebayor head out the door for a nice price. I would prefer it be to a team not in the EPL.

Man City is putting together a pretty formidable team. I think Tevez is a stud player. I think Robinho is totally overrated. Roque Santa Cruz might be overrated, however he was great for Blackburn when Hughes was their coach. Maybe Hughes knows how to get the best out of Santa Cruz:dunno:

I think the Big 4 is still the Big 4. Man City might be in 5th spot after all this spending.

I highly rate Tevez, I would have him in almost any sqaud, his work rate is often high, and just his presence it seems in team lifts the whole team slightly.
Robi is very overated and I think he has only come to Manc for the money pure and simple, a few inspirational games, but on the whole must do better next term. Santa Cruz hmm..I am havent made my mind up on him so we will see how he performs next season.

Youre right the big 4 is the big ie ManU, Liverpool,Chelsea, Arsenal. Man city arent even at the stage of knocking on the door to get in. A large part of ManC at the moment seems to be grabbing enough media to try to announce they have well and truly arrived. Money does not guarantee success (it helps my all means) but if you have a team of 11 primadonnas all trying to get their own way then the team is essentially pulling in 11 different direction not one. I am not sure this huge spending is necessarily going to give the 5th spot finish I suspect they may just put pressure on themselves and finish lower (mid table ish). Well it will be an interesting season anyhow.

City has highly powered up their offensive sector. But The defense is still weak. They havec hired a good keeper : Shay Given, but central defensors are weak.

If you wanna have a great teams you need a solid defense.

Reminds me of Real Madrid : buying thousands of great strikers and offensive midifielders but deffensive midfielders and defensors were weak. From the moment they sold Makelele, the team started to crumble,

I think Tevez, based on his short time in the Premiership, is a legit Top 5 player. I see a lot of Cesc Fabregas in Tevez's play because he's extremely creative, he's unselfish, and he has the ability to play/score big in the Big Games, like Fabregas can. I think the only *flaw* in Tevez's game is defense. He seems an average defender. But that's pretty much a nitpick.

Roque Santa Cruz might be on the "downside" of his career, OR, he could have an Anelka-like resurrection with City. We'll see about him...

I do agree that money doesn't guarantee success. I think the players City has brought in will work together. The egos will take a back seat. As Johan brought up below--I think Real Madrid are in deep shit. Their players are too STAR HEAVY and it will never work out in the longterm. Kaka and Ronaldo will never play well together. Maybe the first month....Arjen Robben is a total arrogant punk, he'll never like sitting on the bench. Benzema might not even see the field except for games against the shitty clubs. I really think Real Madrid have gone way too far and will crash fabulously....:D

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
I am not a big Tevez fan, but the guy has an impact on most games, especially when he came off the bench. This first year, he is gonna want to make a mark with his new side. I am still waiting for Spurs to make a big move, but I am not holding my breath.

I am huge Man City fan and I agree with you, and it looks like we just signed Adebayor

The way your going your team may all be strikers including the goalie. ;) What you need is good defenders, and as I understand it you are courting John Terry, he would be a seriously good addition if you could land him.

I am a blues fan (no not Chelski!), we have "the Scum" for our season opener, and then we play your boys on 1st November.

Maybe they are thinking that the best way to defence is to attack :D

Or possibly confuse the opposition with an unorthodox formation such as 0-0-10, all centred around the opposition penalty spot?

I guess all that misty-eyed, hand over heart "love" for AC Milan that Adebayor spoke of last year was, in reality, just rubbish afterall. He's just a money-grubbing pirate. :dunno:

Thanks for the memories Ade and best of luck in the Uefa Cup :thefinger:

Now...what will Le Professeur do with that $25mil? Trezeguet maybe?

wtf Dan, you like football?
