I don't really put many of my own sigs on this thread, but I'm having problems deciding on my next signature. I created a normal signature and one with animation for my signature of Shadow from Final Fantasy 6. This is my first attempt at an animated signature, although I doubt I will create a lot of them as it's not my thing.
In the animated one I just used multiple layers that were moved around and then saved as a separate layer. I did that a couple of times where I slightly moved the layers around and eventually made into a short motion sequence. It wasn't easy and I couldn't find a way to make the layers move only a certain amount of pixels so I just tried my best to move them by hand. It was also hard because the smoke effects were opaque and cluttered making seeing where each one was not to easy. That's why I think it's a little choppy. I keep the image quality down on it somewhat otherwise it would have ended up as a huge file. Overall not bad for my first time, and for that reason I might put it up next.
On the other hand the still image richness blows the animated one away. It's vibrancy is way better than the animated sig. Looking at them side by side makes it even more obvious. I wish I could get that quality on the animated sig but either it wasn't possible without blowing the sig up to megabytes in size or I'm just not that good. I also like the placement and size of Shadow in the non-animated signature.
I just wanted to know what others though. After looking them over I think I will go with the non-animated signature, but I don't know.
Does anybody knows of any good programs to create animation for signatures? I don't know if piecing together an animated one in a photo editor was ideal.
