Terrell Owens = Overrated

TO's done, people are forgetting that are tons of other just as good receivers in the league with a fraction of the ego.

I don't think TO has a large ego at all. I think it's the opposite. He strikes me as an insecure little boy who has to act out to get attention. The money, the fame, the accolades and even a Super Bowl aren't enough to fill the insecurity, he wants to feel needed and wanted. So he does something stupid, they film him for a couple weeks and he gets his fix. It's pathetic really. But the Eagles knew what they were getting, this is just a replay of San Fran.

Milion dollar talent with a 10 cent head.

Right on the money dude. 99.9% percent of us humans would be delighted with all that talent and live life to the fullest but T.O. has yet to get past the "look at me!" stage in life. Most people get past that stage somewhere between "shitting in diapers" and "walking to school by themselves" stage in life.

You guys are right. T.O. is all about attention. He's a selfish little kid. As a lifelong 49er fan, I grew sick of his antics a long time ago. He hired Drew Rosenhaus to get a new contract after completing just one year of his current deal. Bad fuckin move. Philly turned on him so fast. He'll just never learn. He doesn't understand how to relate to people well. That's why he's such an awful teammate. Now he will never get the new contract he so desperately wanted. I actually pity T.O. because he is just so clueless.

No,No,No,No,No. The Dolphins are my team, and after Mr. Williams, they are not signing T0

My team to and while I would like to see a talented wide reciver like T.O. go to the Fish, I don't think TO would be worth all the trouble send him to Oakland or something. Also with this dumb T.O. ban I really got the shaft in fantasy football, he was my big wide out.

Dave Wannstedt was a fool in my opinion. You have to keep your players relatively happy no matter how much you're paying them.

Wannstedt got fired because of him, the Dolphins built their team around him and he left them high and dry, now he's back playing only for the money.

Ohh he definetly wouldn't be worth the trouble for the fins. I would love to see the fins in the news more, but not because they signed T.HO.

I always side with the guy who everyone hates. When the "league" was dissing Randy Moss, I championed his cause, I think the guy is pure genius. When the whole country was talking shit about Ricky Williams, I supported him and I love the poor guy. They used him like a workhorse anyway, Dave Wannstedt was a fool in my opinion. You have to keep your players relatively happy no matter how much you're paying them.

Terrell, same deal. I don't even like him that much, but I'm on his side completely in all this. Someone else will pick him up and hopefully he'll do fine for them. Even with years of the same drama again and again, I think he'll learn in the end, and I hope for the best for him. And I don't feel sorry for him, he has a lot of records, a lot of catches an TDs, he has the fame and respect to stand up to major teams (though I agree he's foolish to do so), and he has a lot of money. At the end of the day, the only thing I feel bad about is that the whole of football-watching America seems to turn against these heroes like Ricky, Randy and Terrell, especially the commentators and announcers who believe in regimented by-the-book conduct, and there's no-one left on their side.

These are all very different situations, but I can see how you would be on Randy and Ricky's side, but TO, no way in hell.

Moss was just pure talent, got busted for off the field stuff, but I don't ever remember him ripping his teammates and his organization in an attempt to build himself up. Ricky left because he was going to be suspended anyway for failing 3 drug tests. I don't give a shit about that, he was still a great back. He would just rather get baked than play football. Once again didn't blame his teammates or the organization for his off the field problems.

T.O. is a very talented guy too, He is not an overrated WR, but he is the worlds worst teammate. I would not want him on my team. He pulled this same crap in SF too, he ripped into his QB, ripped into the Org. His same old tune, I am great and everyone around me sucks. Those commentators that say the Eagles will be better this season without him are crazy, but in the long run, those other receivers will develop and the whole team will get better together. So they are better off without him. But knowing these arbitrators, TO will be back on their roster. They can't force them to play him, but they will have to pay him. Unless they release him, which means he gets what he wants anyway. Which means he will pull the same crap with his next team, because he can.

If teams are smart no one will sign him, let him rot. Let him figure out that he needs to help make the people around him better, not rip into them in an attempt to build yourself up. Listen to all the great pro athletes, part of being great is making the people around you better. Screw TO!!!

As long as an individual is financially secure and has no noteworthy physical, mental or emotional impediments the likelihood of me feeling any sympathy for said individual is at or near zero.

Imo, Terrell Owens falls into this category.

I wish him well.

he is the most talented wr in fotball but what selfhish attitude he think thats he is the team wel let im play a game alone play all the position se if he is the team

He gets what he deserves and he might realize that with this suspension. Not too many teams are going to put up with his crap. If he pulls it with someone else he might be up the creek. I don't know what he thinks he is trying to accomplish, but any team that looks good to go to the super bowl is not going to want TO because of the risk of him tearing that team apart when he doesn't get his way. He started his crap in SF after they lost that playoff game a couple of years ago. Then when the eagles didn't win the super bowl he started in on that organization. Does he think with an attitude like that he will ever play on a championship team.

No doubt he's got talent, but so does Marvin Harrison...and he doesn't act like an asshole. Chad Johnson has talent too, and he's just a funny guy that doesn't take himself too seriously.

I just don't know if I can like an athlete even if they're really talented, not when there are so many others who are very charismatic and have as much "game" too.

you read my mind...by far, one of the most talented receivers i've ever seen. faster than rice, with hands as good and the ability to run patterns (even though the only one he likes to run is the fly or deep post). willing to go over the middle and take a hit as well (unlike the other motormouth, randy moss). all that has been overshadowed by the fact that he has the mind of a teenager.

he could have been one of the game's greatest, but instead has chosen to be one of the loudest.
