Terminator THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES

I havent watched the show, but my ****** has and she occasionally fills me on whats been happening. Everytime I find something worthy of rolling my eyes into the back of my head in sheer disgust over what they are doing to the terminator legacy.

It reminds me alot of the Highlander movies, In each he was the last of his kind but another would always come along to challenge him. Then the tv show which always saw him as "the only one" but wait a week and another came along.

I think this is another example of poor televison where writers, so incapable of original material pinch from cult movies or existing stories and twist them into a weekly digestable format that breaks the established rules and events that have transpired.

One thing that was made clear from the start of terminator series was that the war is inevitable, many forget that as the credits roll on the first, the war still looms in the future. Granted the sequel leaves an open end (james cameron stating that was his story finished) the third cements that the series is based on self correcting timelines. Regardless of what skynet tries, mankind will win the war, doesnt matter how long shows like this or movie sequels drag it out, the end is inevitable.

THE Sarah Connor CHRONICLES VERY GOOD SHOW.

I hope it goes on for a long time.

there was buzz (forgot where) that they might 'axe' the series!?!?

i hope it aint so.. chronicles:sunny: is a breath of fresh air vs. the BS sitcoms and ultra crappy reality shows out there..:bs::lame:

I took a chance on this show, being skeptical... and I was pleasantly surprised and delighted at a pretty decent science-fiction show. and I think that it does justice to the terminator series. Yeah, the whole highschool robot thing is a little OC, but it's not that bad. and the chick from 300 is great as sarah connor.

speaking of OC, I thought the guy from 90210 did a good job as a serious actor.

I don't remember, but I seem to recall fox doing the usually jerk off with the timing, and that probably hurt the shows ratings. I'm looking forward to next season, and i'll definately be picking this one up for the DVD collection.

also, is it just me or does teenybot look like she could be Jennifer Love Hewitt's ******?

Eh, personally I didn't really like this series. I watched most of it, was kind of a let down. Nothing will ever replace Arnold in my mind. Some of the episodes were ok though :)

haha. I just noticed the freeones "Visit Sarah Connor's official site" link.

Ive had my usual update and I think I have a theory about the show. This entire debacle of a tv show will only work if you completely forget terminator 3. Tonight is the season finale, and it raised the question, what is the ending of the show going to yield? Id imagine the war will start as expected, but what will be the final outcome of the show.

Im already soured by tv shows these days, I started with battlestar and its leaving a more and more unpleasant taste in my mouth as it hurtles uncontrollably to its merciful end, Blade trinity put me right off ever watching anything relating to the blade franchise and I even gave witchblade a chance...but that one took care of itself. God why cant they leave stuff like this alone!

it's the terminator for teens who watch dawson's creek and the OC

thought I'd bump it. anyone watch the new season premier?

I'll leave out the spoilers for a bit, just in case.

For all it's flaws the interesting thing about T3 was John Connor trying to ignore the future and forget the past. We could buy it as a direct sequel to T2, but given the events in Chronicles, it doesn't seem as believable.

It will be interesting to see how the show attempts to connect to t3, if at all. the producer has said that they are mostly ignoring the movie, and has said that it could be seen as an alternative timeline. That presents an interesting idea, where Chronicles and T3 could both be seen as different alternative possible timelines from the first and second movies.

But I'm not sure how big a reception that will get.

I saw the premier and of course I loved it. I don't want to post any spoilers but I'll post that I was glad with how they had Cameron in this episode and I thought that might of brought up some interesting questions for the season. I'll also say that I think I'm going to like Shirley Manson this season. On the other note, I could see this show and T3 being two different timelines because "The future is never set" in the Terminator franchise. Pretty much anything that they do in the past could possibly alter an event that leads to Judgment Day.

The first and second movies of the series were so good, everything they do now is just driving the series and its coolness into the ground.

I agree. The third movie wasn't really good or anything, but the ending was kind of cool. Other than that, everything besides the first and second movie has been stupid.

I don't have high hopes for the new movie coming out, but Christian Bale might be able to pull it off.

Was I right in my readings this afternoon that the lead singer of garbage, whose name escapes me right now, is being cast as a T-1000 type machine in the show?

Really, its bad enough this has been allowed to go onto a second season, let alone the fact they are now trying to bring in ideas from the movie to try and attach themselves to it. How are we actually supposed to take this show, so that it accounts for the first two movies, cause it sure as hell doesnt mesh with the third and with a fourth coming out it seems like even cameron is giving the tv show a big "fuck you" with his addition to the story. Ill admit the 3rd movie was a let down, but it brought the story to a point where it has such potential now to drop us right into the middle of the war. (which I maintain mankind will win regardless)

Shirley Manson. I mentioned her a couple posts up. I think your totally wrong on the show though. I think it's one of the best shows on television right now. Of course we're going to get elements from the movies because it takes place after T2. Also the show isn't going to mesh with the third film because it's not going to have anything to do with that film although the producers of T3 are the producers of the show. The fourth movie is pretty much going to be a whole new trilogy that leads up to the first movie.

Terminator: The Sarah Palin Chronicles will be available in November 2010. Skynet hits and WW3 will begin.

The show will begin on September 14th in Turkey. Wondering and impatient about the show.

It's not supposed to have anything to do with the 3rd movie, Thank God! Terminator 3 sucked the giant, hairy swinging balls of a sweaty donkey!

And as far as the first episode for Season 2 is concerned, I wish Shirley Manson was my urinal. :D

I don't really see any plot contradictions between the two stories so far. we won't really be able to tell the ways that they are connected or not until the end of the series. I'm not sure how long they plan on running the series, but I don't really see it working out indefinitely. it seems like the kind of thing that needs to have a planned time frame.

On the show the main objective of Skynet is not to **** John Connor; they'll certainly attempt it when the opportunity arises, but that's not all they are doing. That was my theory all along, that Skynet is only working to ensure it's own future creation and the assassination of John Connor is only incidental at best. In fact, since the show stipulates that skynet may have evolved from a chess program and employs that metaphor frequently, I'd go so far as to say that Skynet's purpose is to manipulate the connor's into taking actions that they believe are against it, but are actually serving it's goals.

I also really liked seeing a t-1000 model, that was my favorite part of the episode. In the movies they always escalated the models of terminators, so I was saying that right from the start of the show: how come we are just seeing the standard models of the terminators?

Do you believe that Cameron was really able to overwrite her programming? I didn't buy that at all, and it seemed way too deus ex machina, no pun intended. While the concept of robot's developing real feelings ala Asimov is interesting, that's not what I want to see in Terminator. I'd rather prefer to believe that she has an ulterior motive, which was previously hinted at, and that she does intend to **** Connor, just not before accomplishing her primary objective.
