TV in a way has a strong influence on a countries attitude in reality. Different countires have different styles of TV and often reflects on the people who watch it. Seen as this is a adult board lets take sex and nudity as a example.
Britain for example has been known to be backwards towards this and you can blame the goverment and TV in part for it. The restrictions on both TV and films was until not to long ago very strict. In TV it still is really, recently for example, a late night cable TV company was told to change their broadcasts. Why because they had too many very softcore, fun and general lighthearted programs with scantilly clad ladies on it. It didn't broadcast or advertise any of these till 10pm at night and took them off at 2am, so ran for 4 hours. Now it's resigned to showing repeats of programs from the 70's and 80's, that have been already repeated everywhere.
This is what TV in the UK has been like for years. Even swearing is bleeped or dubbed over till 9pm watershed. But some people still complain that this is too early and it shouldn't be on TV at all. Hardcore films in this country wouldn't have even qualified as softcore in a lot of countries till recently. Even now there are still restrictions on somethings.
This has effected the British for years and why we are often seen by some countries as backwards towards sex.
Let's take another country for example (I'm no expert here), but lets say France. They have been a lot more upfront on both TV and films with sex and shows with their people. Often seen as a very sexy and forward thinking country towards sex. Even a few of adult games shows with lots of fun and bits of nudity.
These are just examples of how TV influences the public.
What are your thoughts does TV influence the public and craft them into the country and people they are ?
