He got what he was looking for? Like a death sentence...? :dunno:

The use of the Taser gun is not to kill people under arrest anyway. That fucking machine just made another man/woman/boy/girl die. That is the story.

Tasers were supposed to be an alternative because they weren't lethal.

That's not the case. It's time to do away with them.

Also, the police had trouble with a fifteen year old?
If they can't handle a child why are they allowed to be officers?

I guess if they didn't have the tasers they would have shot him?
They are abusing their power and the tasers.
Another reason to get rid of them.

I dont care if he swung at a police officer or not no one here knows what the kid was going thru(other then the fact that we know his mother just died) and he didnt deserve death for swinging at a cop

So, police officers aren't allowed to defend themselves? Would you feel better about the story if the police officer punched the kid in the face, in self defense, and killed him that way? You can kill someone with a punch too. Or, a baton.

How are they abusing their power in this case? The kid swung at a police officer, which is threatening physical violence, and the police officer defended himself with his taser.

In all seriousness, without any "anti-police" mentality (because that's all that fuels this crap anyway), tell me...

WHAT DO YOU WANT THE POLICE TO DO IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS?

WHAT DO YOU WANT THE POLICE TO DO IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS?

The officer is supposedly a full grown man and he had to taser a child?
That doesn't make any sense.

He could have just taken him to the ground and put him in handcuffs.
With minimal force.
It would have been easy and he would still be alive.

Public servants should have common sense.

They could have subdued him another way.. Police officers are not even allowed to really strike anyone unless it is a very serious situation not a 15 year old kid lashing out because he lost his mother.. And no I am not Anti Cops because I have friends who are cops and I wanted to become a cop but couldn't because of health reasons

After he puts his badge on he transforms from human being with his own child into police officer who enforces the law.
The law states do not hit police officers.
So, he goes Judge Dredd on the kid's ass.

If I didn't carry a taser for work I would have to resort to the collapsible baton, pepper spray or my pistol when confronted by a group of violent teenagers. Pepper spray doesn't do a whole lot to diffuse a situation, sometimes it exacerbates it. Batons in some instances, break bones and could be just as deadly as a taser. I hope to God that I never have to use my pistol but I will if I have to.

There has been debate on the safety of tasers but on the whole, they are reliable and safe. Police don't always have the opportunity to ask if a suspect has a heart condition or discern whether or not that person is on a drug that may cause an individual to suffer worse reactions to a routine tasing.
I was unable to see the size and appearance of the victim at the time of his death but in the pictures that his family held up he didn't look all that threatening. Also, did they hit anyone else with the juice during this incident? Generally, police will go after the instigator first, to impress the combatants into compliance. Was he, aside from a punch thrown at an officer, leading the group?

Then we get into the fact that the officer perceived a threat and determined that the taser was the prudent measure in reaction to the kid's aggression. I wouldn't presume anything about this case until more facts have been made available. If the family agrees with the actions of the police on scene I think the matter should be closed.

How do you know that taking the kid down would've been easy? It was said that he was drunk and on drugs. Have you ever seen what drugged up people can do? They can fuck up a cop, no matter how small they are. It gives them the ability to withstand a lot of pain and exert an extreme amount of force.

Minimal force? How do you take down an obviously uncooperative person with minimal force? He fucking tried to punch one of them. You think he's just going to go down easily? That's absurd.

It's unfortunate that the kid died, but he attacked a police officer first and the police officer defended himself. I wasn't aware that police officers weren't allowed to protect themselves.

They could have subdued him another way.. Police officers are not even allowed to really strike anyone unless it is a very serious situation not a 15 year old kid lashing out because he lost his mother.. The kid took a swing at a police officer. Why is that part of the story being ignored here? He physically attacked a police officer and the police officer defended himself. Seriously, I asked this before, but would you feel better if he had punched the kid in self defense? Once you swing at a cop, they have every legal right to fight back. Instead of beating the shit out of this kid, he used his taser. Unfortunately, it provoked his death, but expecting a police officer in that situation to just take everything lightly and calmly and peacefully subdue the kid is an unrealistic expectation.

FYI - Just because he was 15 doesn't mean that he can't fight. When I was 15, I could've fucked up people who were older and bigger than me. So, it's not impossible for a police officer to look at this kid as something more than just a "kid".

Exactly! :yesyes:

I think PEPPER SPRAY, TEAR GAS or RUBBER BULLETS would be an appropriate alternative. Even if they have to resort to using a BATON or BILLY CLUB they can aim and hit the person in the legs or somewhere which would be NON-FATAL Therefore it would surely eliminate the risk of severe injuries or even Death.

I don't care if the kid swung @ police. it shouldn't have resulted in anyone's death! :nono:

I would calll that MURDER. TASERS are too dangerous and un-needed. their are plenty of non-lethal alternatives cops can use IMHO.:yesyes::rolleyes::mad::thefinger

Sooooo everybody besides Chef is anti police.

What if the cop put his taser down, and tackled the kid. Then the kid falls down and hits his head and dies from the injury? BAN TACKLING.

What if he shot a rubber bullet and it went into his mouth and he choked to death? BAN RUBBER BULLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You people are ridiculous. From now on, the cops should just ask criminals politely to put THEMSELVES in cuffs, so they aren't uncomfortable and hurt the criminal.

The guy was attacking a cop. If you don't want to get tazed, don't attack a cop.

P.S. If the cop HAD used a billy club, or baton and hit the kid, you would all be saying he used excessive force and should lose his badge for beating a 15 year old kid.

Cops can't win.

THANK YOU!!!

People just want to be mad at police officers, even if there's no valid reason for it. When stories like this are publicized, people completely ignore the fact that the 15 year old attacked the police officer. They just focus on the taser issue and the idea that he was just a "child" who should be treated as some sort of innocent little angel (even though he was drunk, hopped up on drugs and attacked a police officer). Then, because they completely ignore the unwarranted attack by the 15 year old, it causes them to think that there was no reason for a taser to be used at all.

Your being sarcastic and unrealistic! the cops don't have to aim rubber bullets in his mouth, do they? the genitals would be appropriate, baton or billy club the legs. non-fatal. that along with pepper spray / tear gas. and viola a subdued teenager who was out of control. but still alive!

THANK YOU!!!

Blah. cops over use force constantly. if they can't get an unarmed 15 yr old kid under control. they don't need to be police officers. especially cops wearing protective equipment that could withstand bullets. let alone a 15 yr old swinging, throwing punches @ them. give me a fuckin break. thats pathetic!

I hope that department gets sued for millions! that situation didn't warant a dead 15 yr old for throwing punches @ some cops. :nono:
